Job Purpose | To provide a specialized security auditing professional consulting service through the provision of technical services within the forensic auditing remit Council-wide that adds value and improved eThekwini operations, and in pursuance of Council objectives by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of governance, stewardship, risk, compliance and control management processes within the area of responsibility. Key Responsibility Areas | ? Leading and conducting organization -wide forensic audits. ? Providing specialist continuous and security auditing input for positive contribution to a clean audit mandate and compliance with the standards. ? Contributing to specialist continuous and security auditing requirements in order to assist to develop and implement a combined assurance programme, taking into account various roles in the control environment (including 1st and 2nd line defence). ? Disseminating functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long term objectives and current applications and constraints. ? Providing specialist continuous and security auditing contribution to the administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the continuous and security auditing remit. ? Contributing to knowledge management and document control system (continuity and business recovery process) of the continuous and security remit of Internal Audit. |

Research and Analysis – Ability to break an audit problem into component parts, identify key issues, locate authority in the form of statute/ policy ad compile audit reports to support a position. ? Advocacy/ Negotiation – The ability to develop and present internal Audit interests in appropriate forums, presenting and negotiating the best possible outcomes. ? Ethics and Professionalism – The ability to identify and deal with ethical issues and conflicts of interests. ? Internal Audit – Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, governance and internal control processes. ? Engagement Management – Ability to place-ordinate and control the tasks of self and others to deliver on engagements to the required specification and within budget and schedule. ? Information Management – The gather and analysis of data and the management thereof utilising various techniques to best explain the results of the audit process. ? Communication – The capacity to listen attentively, grasp issues, present information in a clear manner and respond appropriately to verbal and written communication of others. ? Service Delivers Orientation- The ability to explore and implement new ways of delivering services that contribute to the improvement of municipal processes in order to achieve municipal goals. ? Customer Orientation and Customer Focus- Understand the service needs of a client /customers (internal or external) and actively focuses on anticipating, meeting and exceeding the needs in a timely and appropriate manner. ? Action and Outcome Orientation – The display of a high work ethic in setting and achieving challenging goals, meeting deadlines and keeping promises. Essential Requirements | ? Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Auditing or Internal Audit as a major and registered with a recognised professional body. ? Valid motor vehicle driving license. ? 5 Years relevant experience. ? Computer Literacy. |
