Purpose of Job
Th
- The purpose of the role is leading and directing a team of Schedulers to ensure coordination and management of the order management and optimisation process while ensuring that customer demand is met within stock, fleet, order and delivery constraints across all market streams (Retail, Commercial and Wholesale Marketing) by well trained and motivated resources (Ways of working).
- To facilitate engagements with internal and external stakeholders in order to identify, analyze and implement mitigations and continuous improvement opportunities for the operation against the key objectives of Customer centricity and reliability of supply. The Team Lead: Scheduling is responsible for analyzing, interpret and translating LCCT standard reports and KPIs into useful information that can be used to initiate continuous improvement interventions. The Team lead is also responsible for the management of performance as well as continuous coaching of the team.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Manage customer volume allocations according to agreed/reviewed commitment or ERP decisions
- Analyze and review a set of data to find patterns and issues that can lead to insights for improvement opportunity.
- Calculate value-at-stake for changes in behaviour or operation.
- Monitoring, performance utilizing leading and lagging indicators through various daily, weekly and monthly reports and applying the required corrective actions.
- Build strong and influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify development and competency gaps within the team; and lead and facilitate applicable interventions that will close the identified gaps
- Participate and implement Continuous improvement project initiatives and plans utlising an Agile philosophy through data analysis and communicating plans and outcomes.
- Engage stakeholders through constant communication on service status, customer complaints and challenges in order to develop mitigations; conduct continuous improvement by facilitating effective root-cause analysis; and provide prompt feedback to stakeholders with regards to incident resolution and implement corrective actions
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Review and update all SOP’s and work instructions for the scheduling team and ensure all schedulers are trained as per required change management practices.
- Ensure performance agreements and PDP’s are aligned with the team and departmental performance targets.
- Ensure performance discussions take place on a monthly basis and that the formal bi-annual and annual discussions are conducted with direct reports.
- Implement safety operational game plan and ensure adherence to all safety procedures and facilitate implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure execution of administrative housekeeping tasks eg open orders, inaccurate master data etc
- Manage and ensure the Release of Release the replenishment plan to the relevant stakeholders on the specified platform and timeline
Formal Education
University Bachelors Degree in Business Logistics or Transportation Management
Min Experience
Experience: 7+ relevant years in Logistics
Min Experience
- Understanding/Experience with Linear Programming or a Transportation Management System
- Strong Replenishment Planning and SAP system knowledge required
