Purpose of the Position The Junior Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the Financial Accountant in maintaining and generating accurate and timely financial records for Logico Unlimited (Pty) Ltd. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Articles with a reputable audit firm Added advantage – Studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Articles with a reputable audit firm
Added advantage – Studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA or SAICA or CIMA.
Advanced Excel skills
Sound understanding of bookkeeping and accounting concepts
Experience in use of ERP systems, preferably SAP
Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and relevant legislation, to include taxation.

As this role oversees critical data for Logico, the candidate’s mathematical abilities and business knowledge will be integral due to the breadth of financial information they will oversee.

Key Performance Areas

Load supplier payments for authorization by Directors.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and any other ad hoc reports.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports in line with relevant financial reporting standards.
Prepare monthly VAT returns and provisional tax returns.
Process tax accounting.
Maintain the fixed assets register & leases.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for approval by the Financial Accountant.
Process transactions relating to intercompany accounting.
Prepare daily cash flow report.
Assist with internal audits and reporting on the adequacy of internal controls.
Assist with the smooth completion of year-end audits.
Analyse and investigate discrepancies in financial records.
Serve as a member of the project team for ad hoc projects.
Process staff claims.
