Job PurposeManages the Municipality’s medium- and long-term Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Business Continuity which includes Disaster Recovery.
This post reports to DEPUTY HEAD (SYSTEMS DELIVERY & SECURIT)
Key Responsibility Areas• Manages the Municipality’s Business Continuity processes.
• Formulating and documenting a Business Continuity strategy consistent with the agreed business objectives and priorities.
• Mentoring departments in developing, implementing and auditing their own Business Continuity plans and recovery strategies.
• Ensuring that Business Continuity plans are tested regularly by the Municipality.
• Manages the Municipality’s Disaster Recovery processes by planning and charting the direction for Disaster Recovery processes.
• Co-ordinating and supervising all special projects relating to Disaster Recovery and capacity.
• Auditing the Disaster Recovery plans of various departments and implementing and testing resultant changes.
• Effectively manages all risks from a technology perspective.
• Assessing the potential risks brought about using an external contractor to manage the Municipality’s information-processing facilities and implementing appropriate measures and procedures to guard against the compromise, damage or loss of data.
• Ensuring that Disaster Recovery Plans for critical business processes have been developed, tested and updated where required.
• Managing all the activities during the Disaster Recovery process, and during the regular Disaster Recovery testing.
• Recognizing and identifying potential areas where existing Disaster Recovery policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed

• Registered as a member of business continuity institution.
• 6 Years relevant experience.

Job PurposeTo contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental compliance policies through the alignment of and compliance with international, national and provincial environmental legislation and policy, procedures, systems and decision-making processes for service

Key Responsibility Areas
Reviewing, monitoring and enhancing compliance with environmental legislature by all municipal line functions.
Plan, co-ordinates and render environmental compliance monitoring and auditing.
Prepare an environmental compliance protocol of all capital budgets.
Respond to environmental complaints and queries relating to capital budget project.
Undertake negotiations with other stakeholders around complex or controversial compliance issues.
Liaises with stakeholders and officials concerned with environmental compliance and monitoring matters.
Conceptualise and develop sustainable development indicators appropriate to the environmental compliance monitoring of Capital Projects.
Assists standing committee in their deliberation where these may have an impact on the environmental compliance of municipal capital projects.
Participating in project implementation.
Undertaking negotiation with other stakeholders around complex or controversial compliance issues in order to assist in resolving the matter in line with sustainable development principles.
Identifying strategic project or research that needs to be undertaken as regard environmental.
Compliance of capital projects and prepares an appropriate budget and action plans to address these needs in order to ensure that the objectives of the IDP and environment systems are met.
Overseeing, managing and directing activities of technical staff in order to maximize productivity and achieving the objectives of the department through appropriate support.

Valid motor vehicle driving license.
4 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements
Master’s Degree (NQF level 9) in one of the following disciplines Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Nature Conservation, LLB or equivalent.
Environmental Management Inspectorate Certificate or an Environmental Law Module within the NQF Level 8 qualification or equivalent.
6 Years relevant experience

Special Conditions:  Incumbent will be required to accept statutory appointments in terms of extant legislation.
