About the role

The purpose of the Risk Specialist role is to develop and coordinate risk management programs and frameworks. This involves providing subject matter expertise to ensure effective risk management outcomes. The role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and measuring risks, and making precise risk mitigation recommendations to safeguard the organization against potential losses.

What you will bring

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in risk management for an insurer
• Analysing complex issues
• Ability to apply risk expertise in commercial environment
• Exposure to Corporate Governance Frameworks

You should have

• Knowledge about the Prudential Standards – Governance and Operational Standards for Insurers (GOIs) and Financial Soundness Standards for Insurers (FSIs)
• Awareness of the requirements in insurance related regulations e.g. Insurance Act, Long Term Insurance Act (LTIA), Short Term Insurance Act (STIA), Policyholder Protection Rules (PPRs) and other relevant regulations

Ideally you should have

• 5+ years’ experience in risk management for an insurer
• Contributing to ORSA exercises
• Regulatory interactions, including the Prudential Authority and Financial Sector Conduct Authority
• Knowledge of RDARR requirements
• In-depth knowledge of the Prudential Standards (GOIs and FSIs) and various insurance related regulations
• Risk metrics and approaches used in the risk management of insurance companies
• In-depth knowledge of the South African Insurance Industry
• Knowledge about IFRS 17 will be desirable

Qualifications (Minimum)

• A relevant qualification in Risk and Compliance or Actuarial Science

Purpose Statement

To independently investigate instances of risk related to various types of complex fraud incidents across Capitec Bank (e.g. internal corruption, serious breach of policies and procedures, and criminal syndicates) including investigating the matter, the parties involved and provide appropriate evidence for disciplinary hearings and/or criminal proceedings. Identify potential control weaknesses and recommend preventative measures, improvements and training initiatives against potential fraud to Capitec Bank.  Provide subject matter expertise, technical know-how, experience, oversight and guidance for others in respect of a portfolio, function or department.

Experience

Minimum:

• At least 6 years’ experience as a Forensic Investigator/Auditor.

Ideal:

• At least 6 years’ experience in Banking Crime investigation.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Law or Finance

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• A relevant degree in Finance or Law

Knowledge

Minimum:

• Investigation methods and procedures.
• Criminal law and law of evidence of the judicial process.

About the Role:

The role will provide independent oversight, advice and assistance to the business in the identification, evaluation, assessment and treatment of information and technology related risks. To improve risk awareness and risk culture through challenging first-line management’s information and technology risk management practices.

Our ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor’s degree in risk and Compliance or Commerce
• 5 or more years’ experience in Risk Management and/or Internal/ External Auditing.
• Proven experience in a governance and oversight capacity, e.g. IT Governance, IT Audit or Information Security
• Experience applying/ Basic understanding of relevant risk methodologies and IT/ Cyber Security control frameworks, e.g. COBIT, ISF, ISO, NIST, ITIL, COSO, DAMA, DM-BOK
• Experience in performing risk and control assessments and experience in information risk management
• Experience in IT risk management including information security
• General business acumen and Banking industry experience and knowledge
• Understanding of IT/ Cyber Security and Cloud Computing
• Proven experience and understanding of Cyber and IT Security best practice and principles.
• Experience in data privacy and related compliance, e.g. RDARR, DAMA, GDPR
• Prior experience in a Cyber or IT Security role, e.g. ISO role, cyber security role, IT auditor (IT Security specialisation)
• 5+ years’ specialist experience within risk and compliance

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in risk and Compliance or Commerce
• 5 or more years’ experience in Risk Management and/or Internal/ External Auditing.
• Proven experience in a governance and oversight capacity, e.g. IT Governance, IT Audit or Information Security
• Must have hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

About the role:

Are you ready to elevate your career as a Senior Information and Technology (IT) Auditor? Join our dynamic team where you’ll take the lead in performing and overseeing crucial IT Audits, delving into the intricacies of risk based reviews.

As a Senior IT Auditor, you will help the organisation to secure its information and technology environment from internal and external threats by analysing their technology systems and infrastructure to achieve the information security principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability. You will be exposed to various types of assurance needs including IT General Controls, Applications Controls, Program & Project Assurance, Data Migration and Cyber Security reviews.

You will be responsible for planning and executing audit assurance engagements following a risk-based approach as well as providing advisory services to our key stakeholders on potential IT related controls issues, recommended process changes and corrective actions.

What you will bring:

Minimum 4 years in an Internal Auditing environment with emphasis on a complex multi-platform IT environment, with specific experience in:

• General controls, application controls review
• Practical experience in identifying, designing and executing data analytics.
• Defining of control objectives to support business processes and the assessment of both system and manual controls which exist or are needed to meet the control objectives
• Practical experience using Cobit and other relevant best practice frameworks
• A relevant qualification in Internal Auditing or Information Technology
• Certification in Information Systems Auditing (CISA) (Preferred) – Certified

Ideally you also have:

• At least 5 years’ experience in IT or Information security
• Planning and managing audit engagement
• Project management processes, methodologies, tools, controls and risks
• Banking and Insurance industry experience
• A relevant post graduate degree in Internal Auditing or Commerce
• Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
