Role Overview:

  • Identify, control and escalate potential risks which may lead to increased costs.
  • Prioritise resource allocation to minimise and reduce wastage.
  • Collaborate closely with relevant business units and business product houses as per strategy to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Drive opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction such as adoption of digital and other self-service options across client base.
  • Resolve customer dissatisfaction/complaints by taking ownership of the problem.
  • Analyse customer feedback to help improve customer service.
  • Ensure that delivery is accurate, timeous and of an acceptable standard.
  • Ensure that product or service knowledge and advice is technically accurate.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Diploma/Degree in Credit, Accounting or any other Finance related
  • 3 – 5 years in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years ideally at junior management level
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As the Senior Audit Manager, you will lead the audit team and provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls within FirstRand Namibia Group. You will also be responsible for providing consulting services to clients and effectively managing and developing the audit team in compliance with relevant standards.

  • Continuously assess the impact of internal audit services on our client base.
  • Develop and implement the Group Internal Audit strategy.
  • Align assurance and consulting services to the overall GIA strategy.
  • Prepare the annual audit plan, considering strategic inputs and emerging risks.
  • Introduce efficiencies in the audit processes through leveraging Computer Assisted Auditing Techniques (CAAT).
  • Optimise resource allocation by assigning audits to individual managers/auditors based on the complexity of the engagements, ensuring alignment with necessary skills, knowledge and expertise.
  • Execute high quality audits in compliance with internal audit methodology and the IIA standards and meeting strict audit plan timelines.
  • Demonstrate effective people management skills, implementing and maintaining a highly skilled team through targeted training and development plans.
  • Provide expert guidance to managers/auditors throughout the audit process, advising on technical, methodology and regulatory issues whilst providing professional advice and consulting services to clients.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of committee packs, improving on the quality of reporting to enhance clarity and impact.

You will be an ideal candidate if you meet the below requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: CA, CIA, CISA or relevant qualification at a post graduate level.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in internal or external audit, with IT audit and data analytics experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, effectively leading audit teams.
  • Banking and financial services sector experience will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel.
