Social Media Activator

We are searching for a dynamic Social Media Activator to amplify our presence in the digital space!

Main Purpose

Leveraging social media platforms as powerful tools to build brand awareness, drive engagement, and ultimately contribute to the organization’s growth and success in the digital landscape.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. To collaborate with the Marketing Team and Line Manager to develop and maintain budgets for internal social media campaigns to optimise content.
  2. Efficiently execute clients’ social media boosting briefs according to allocated budgets.
  3. Ensure the safekeeping and maintenance of company equipment and responsible use of company phone to maintain costs.
  4. To come up with effective social media strategies and plans for client campaigns and the station.
  5. Source and post interactive content on Kaya FM’s social networks according to the brand voice and overall digital strategy.
  6. Fulfil the community management mandate by monitoring all social media platforms for audience queries and responding to them as necessary.
  7. To achieve set monthly performance targets for social media platforms.  o Facebook – minimum 2mil reach, engagement rate of 6.
    o Twitter / X – min 700kreach, engagement rate of 4.
    o LinkedIn – min 4 posts
    o Instagram – min 500k reach.
  8. To promote social media and on-air convergence by effectively communicating and collaborating with on-air content teams, creating and publishing content for social media consumption.
  9. To adhere to operational processes that assist with the departmental workflow by developing and completing a social media calendar, attending, contributing to departmental meetings and workshops, and constantly monitoring performance.
  10. Attend at least 3 (three) relevant training sessions or workshops per quarter &/ Acquire new videography skills or certifications to enhance capabilities.


Qualifications / Education/Experience:

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma in Media Studies
  • Commercial Radio & Broadcasting experience
  • 1-3 years experience in a similar role

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and how they work
  • Knowledge of how to pull analytics, stats and exploiting each platform to achieve maximum results
  • Event & life coverage, social media marketing, writing/copywriting, briefing & evaluating skills
  • Video editing software
  • Excellent Writing Skills

If you’re a creative thinker, proficient at navigating the ever-evolving landscape of social media, and eager to make waves in the world of radio, we want to hear from you. We are searching for a talented and dynamic Social Media Specialist to amplify our presence in the digital space!


You will be responsible for creating engaging and high-quality content (i.e. images, text and video), for various social media platforms. You will manage Kaya`s image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals.

We need you to look for opportunities to increase brand exposure for the station.
Vast knowledge of news, pop culture and music is also very important. We need a curious, driven, self-starter that will take our social media platforms to the next level. We need striking visuals that speak to our code switchers. Capture the moments on the streets, on-air and be on the story.

Main Purpose

Leveraging social media platforms as powerful tools to build brand awareness, drive engagement, and ultimately contribute to the station’s growth and success in the digital landscape.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Assist Marketing manager with the effective management and monitoring of the departmental budget in terms of expenses in accordance with
    company policies and procedures to ensure maximum ROI.
  2. Create, curate and manage all published content (images, video and written). Post on our social media platforms- You Tube, WhatsApp Channel, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and Tik Tok.
  3. Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences as well as industry standards.
  4. Work with internal teams to design and implement social media strategy and content plans to align with our business goals.
  5. Set specific objectives and report on ROI.
  6. Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text,  photos, videos and news) covering the various shows.
  7. Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics.
  8. Collaborate with other teams; marketing, events, sales and programming, to ensure brand consistency.
  9. Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.
  10. Oversee social media accounts’ design (eg. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout).
  11. Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions.
  12. Stay updated with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
  13. Effectively manage the performance and collaborate with the team to ensure the successful execution of social media strategies and campaigns that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
  14. Compile reports for management showing results and impact.


Qualifications / Education/Experience:

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma in Media Studies
  • Commercial Radio & Broadcasting experience
  • 2-3 years proven experience in a similar role

Skills

  1. Knowledge of social media platforms and how they work.
  2. Experience in content management
  3. Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research
  4. Hands on experience with appropriate tools and software such as GA4.
  5. Knowledge of online marketing channels
  6. Familiar with web and graphic design
  7. Knowledge of how to pull analytics, stats and exploiting each platform to achieve maximum results.
  8. Event & life coverage, social media marketing, writing/copywriting, briefing & evaluating skills.
  9. Video editing software.
