Job Description

EOSH Coordinator to coordinate and manage the implementation of the EOSH system, including all internal and external audits, and support corrective action across all functions, capabilities and sites within the organisation. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeably discuss EOSH procedures and practices with Process Owners, in the drive to provide support and advice for ensuring EOSH is managed effectively
  • Provide input, advice and guidance to all stakeholders in terms of meeting EOSH requirements for new projects, lines, systems and processes, based on proactively developing a knowledge-base of these, from doing a thorough investigation each time
  • Timeously communicate changes and related information to stakeholders regarding EOSH systems and processes
  • Continually monitor compliance with EOSH systems across the business to enable required standards to be achieved that ensure a safe, healthy workplace with no damage to the environment
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local legislation, as well as monitoring that legislation applied in the workplace, is current and documentation is accessible to all users at the site.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders in a way that grows constructive two-way communication, and use input to inform and agree goals
  • Lead Process Owners to ensure all risks are continually assessed, that assessments are up-to-date, and that risk is mitigated and managed against procedures and requirement
  • Manage incident and accident investigations to ensure ‘technical correctness’ and accuracy of root causes
  • Oversee corrective action against deviations based on audits, inspections, incidents and/or other non-conformance finding
  • Proactively monitor compliance with housekeeping, 5S and GMP procedures, and that standards are maintained
  • Review the EOSH Training Matrix on a monthly basis to ensure all EOSH-related training appears on the Matrix, that training takes place, that the Matrix is continually updated, and that attendance of participants occurs as it should
  • Proactively monitor internal company permits issued and ensure compliance with permit requirements, train permit issuers on the completion of forms and the associated meaning of each of these and monitor adherence to permits.
  • Monitor the implementation and maintaining of a hearing conservation program, including audiometric screening, analyze results of the screening, and take appropriate corrective action where issues are evident
  • Review inspection/test results of all equipment where it relates to the safety of the equipment, ensuring this is done on time and that corrective action is taken where such equipment is found to be unsafe
  • Construct a system implementation plan Health and Safety and Environmental systems
  • Develop and conduct training to ensure awareness and understanding of the EOSH systems
  • Implementation of Local requirements & KORE requirements
  • Liaise with relevant parties where KORE or legal EOSH requirements change. Track implementation of changes
  • Participate, develop/train and assess internal auditors

Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Packaging Engineering department. We are looking for talented individuals with relevant skills and experience for a Control and Automation Technician which is based in Phoenix.

Key Purpose: The Control and Automation Technician is required to deliver specialized high-level technical skills to support CCBSA manufacturing operations in Phoenix. This will include debugging and troubleshooting automation control systems and software of PLCs, HMIs, Servo Drive Systems, Industrial Control Networks, VSD, and instrumentation. The Control and Automation Technician must be competent in PLC and HMI software development, to make medium-scale modifications and improvements to the control system. The Control and Automation Technician will assist in creating drawings, including schematics, P&ID, and control panel designs. The C&A Technician will develop calibration procedures for process instruments as well as coach understanding of process controls and the troubleshooting thereof. The C&A Technician needs to have a strong electrical background including Servo and Variable speed drives. The C&A technician will report to the Control and Automation Controller in the Packaging-engineering department and will assist in problem-solving and C&A asset management to enhance operational performance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Maintain Plant Standards and Infrastructure.
Assist with developing adequate procedures/standards for automation, and be the lead to ensure that the plant standards are maintained.
Conduct Routine Backups of all automation systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA Systems, Industrial PCs and storage media, VSD and Servo systems, and Machine Parameters).
Maintain and Update Diagrams and Documentation (P&IDs, Schematics, Industrial Network, and Technical Documentation).
Calibration – Ensure all plant instrumentation is calibrated, and calibration certificates archived.
Disaster recovery – Test and check Backups on a routine basis and make sure all automation systems can be restored with minimal downtime.
Reduce Control & Automation Downtime and Maintain Machine/Plant Reliability.
Accurate and methodical faultfinding to determine the root cause of breakdowns.
Continuous Root Cause analysis of technical problems/breakdowns and implement improvement measures to prevent repeat failures.
Continuous optimization of processes, and machine operation/sequence in all areas (utilities, processing, and production lines) to improve and maintain efficiencies, and reduce electricity, water, and waste.
Coach, guide, and assist Electrical Machine Specialists/Artisans to close skill gaps.
Analyze downtime for trends and proactively eliminate major causes.
Attend Formal Failure Analysis (FFA’s), Technical Team meetings, and Pre- maintenance meetings.
Business Continuity

Conduct Risk assessments on all automation equipment and mitigate risks.
Identify critical spares required for all automation equipment and ensure that critical spares are available.
Ensure the integrity and reliability of automation software and hardware by monitoring maintenance, adherence to standards, and effective problem-solving.
Participate in the C&A community by enabling knowledge sharing and skill transfer.
Standby duties are required for after-hours support to the Packaging lines, Processing, and Utilities departments.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy/Light Current/Mechatronics) (N6/S4)

Key Purpose Statement

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Support through coaching, guiding and facilitating in the execution and implementation of the company Risk Management and control strategy to minimise risks, losses and exposures and ensure that risks are effectively and accordingly managed.
  • To provide professional expertise, consultancy and audit services in the disciplines of Risk Management and Control (Protection of CCBSA  assets), Investigation of Serious Crime, Forensic Audit, Security, Occupational Health, Medicine & Hygiene, Safety, Fire and Explosion Protection (LPG Installations, Diesel and Petroleum), relevant legislated compliance and insurance policy adherence.

Security management/fraud/stock loss investigations

  • Ensure through appropriate security providers, that the site is adequately secured from a physical, electronic and guarding perspective.
  • Conducting a RACM audit to ensure compliance with fraud/theft risks, policies and procedures to mitigate or transfer the risk.

Insurance

To assist in ensuring that the CCBSA Corporate image and insurance fund is protected by ensuring that at corporate arranged events risks are assessed and safe for the public in attendance.

  • To monitor insurance claims and costs, in liaison with the Regional Risk Manager, with the objective of reducing risks and insurance costs, reducing claims and creating savings, ensure that applicable excess recoveries actually occur.

Occupational Health and Safety

  • To ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act at the CCBSA manufacturing, warehousing facilities, depots, LDPs and sales offices.
  • Implementation of a Nosa 5 star system within Manufacturing and identified depots.
  • Ensure that the SHE management system is fully integrated with KORE and other external requirements.
  • Ensure all new employees and contractors are inducted on the SHE programme.

Environmental 

  • To identify appropriate corrective actions arising from NOSA, Insurance and legal compliance audits and manage corrective action.
  • Maintain the environmental management programme and monitor key environmental indicators for the sales and distribution environment. (S&D Specific leadership required)
  • Monitor with Occupational health practitioner results in respect of occupational health and environmental risk assessments and surveys (E.g. illumination and noise levels, emissions, ventilation etc.).

Legal Compliance

  • Monitor legislation in regard to health and safety. OHS Act and the various Regulations, COlD Act, Hazardous Substances and Major Hazard Installation regulations to ensure liabilities are addressed and to avoid as far as possible criminal and civil action against CCBSA, Directors and Executive Management, by ensuring adequate compliance levels without compromise.
  • Ensure applicable designations (legal appointments) in terms of OHS Act and regulations are in place.

Fire and explosion protection

  • Ensure that these risks are adequately addressed and to monitor audits/surveys/maintenance to ensure that fire and explosion risks are minimised.
  • Ensure fire equipment is adequate in relation to the risk, reliable and in a ready to use state. (Both fixed and portable)
  • Ensure ASIB certification for Fire pump and sprinkler system and weekly checks, services and maintenance programme is in place. (where installed).

Contractors and General

  • Ensure that all contractors undergo site SHE induction and comply with CCBSA internal contractor management requirements.
  • Any construction work conforms to the requirements of the Construction Regulations (required SHE plan etc) including Capital projects and Civils etc.
  • Develop sound relations with external legal authorities e.g. Dept. of Labour, local police and services, consultants, Insurance Agents and Approved Inspection Authorities, and relevant areas of expertise, to ensure sound corporate risk management practices.

LDPs (Local Distribution Partners)

  • The LDP must comply to basic SHE and legal requirements. The Risk Controller in liason with the relevant LDP manager must ensure legal compliance is adhered to by the LDP owner and staff. Regualr audits are required to measure performance.
  • As new LDPs are identified, the Risk Controller must conduct security risk assessments, and oversee the installation of the security system. Security must be monitored at regular intervals to ensure the site is adequately coovered to reduce the risk.

  • A minimum of a National Diploma in Risk Management or Equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years practical risk management experience having worked within an industrial or FMCG environment (This should have included accountability for Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental management, Security Management, investigating serious crime including theft and fraud, case docket compilation for external criminal and internal disciplinary hearings, Dust/Gas/Sugar Explosion/Fire protection, Environmental compliance etc).

Job Description

The Machine Specialist will be required to ensure that plant availability and product quality at minimum cost; without sacrificing standards. The role also entails providing specialized machine skill and knowledge to the shift team, and to support the operations, maintenance and problem solving activities of the shift teams. The role reports into the Maintenance Controller.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist support to the shift based teams during operations. This will include standby and day shift support.
  • Where requested, assist as a functional expert in problem solving. This must be undertaken in support of the process artisan.
  • Provide guidance and advice to the shift based teams on machine operation, machine fault finding and correct responses to machine failure modes.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer of machine operation to shift based teams.
  • Review SIC’s and address deviations regularly
  • Take part, as a functional expert, in regional and central plant optimisation trials.
  • Ability to work shifts and be available on call-out where necessary
  • Verify and ensure that machines are running at rated speed
  • Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required
  • Carry out work during the planned maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Planner.
  • Complete any administration and CMMS tasks in support of planned maintenance periods.
  • Partake in maintenance post mortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learning’s from maintenance activities.
  • Review and optimization of maintenance schedules
  • Coach / train Operators on autonomous maintenance tasks
  • Partake in carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment, or support the shift artisans in carrying out repairs.
  • When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action.
  • Verify that running repairs carried out address the problems
  • Complete the administration tasks relating to any running repairs that the technician has carried out. This includes all CMMS inputs.
  • Where running repairs cannot be carried out, communicates this to the Maintenance Planner to ensure the work is planned into the next planned maintenance window.
  • Operate in a safe manner at all times, and to identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected.
  • Carry out work according to the work instructions and adhering to appropriate CCBA policies and procedures.
  • Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5s principles during the execution of their duties
  • Applying the appropriate situational problem solving techniques (e.g. 5Why, quick fix routines, OPL’s (One Point Lessons) etc.) to identify and correct the problem.
  • Identify equipment critical spare requirements
  • Conduct equipment audit to improve and sustain reliability
  • Perform downtime reconciliation and analyse equipment performance daily
  • Come with equipment improvement initiatives
  • Apply advanced problem solving techniques such FFA and PIPs
  • Ensure that all critical spares are added to stock and stock levels are always in the right quantity

Grade 12 · National Vocational Certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (Level 3)/ Trade Test/N3 ·  Minimum two (3) years maintenance experience in the Fast-Moving-Consumer-Goods Business  · Knowledge of heating and cooling systems, including refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, and heating pumps · Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems · Ability to work independently and within a team · Excellent communication and problem-solving skills · Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed · Must possess a valid driver’s license.
