Our lawyers provide pragmatic and efficient dispute resolution services

We help our clients resolve commercial disputes efficiently and cost-effectively, we also provide and facilitate independent third party mediation services.

We have assisted our clients through both local and international arbitrations, we have guided them on arbitration options at the contractual negotiation stage and at the conclusion and enforcement stage, including enforcement of foreign arbitration rulings.

A properly considered approach to arbitration ensures that contracting parties proceed with confidence knowing that any uncertainty will be resolved in a fair and agreed manner and that they can rely on the application of their chosen law, this confidence is particularly important where business relationships extend across foreign jurisdictions that neither party has legal familiarity with, where appropriate parties can also choose to rely on the finality provided by the arbitration process whilst ensuring ongoing relationships with their trading partners.

Our lawyers offer legal expertise in tax structuring for business and commercial entities

We advise on the taxation considerations of commercial agreements, and on personal and corporate tax structuring. The differing income tax rates for individuals, companies and trusts create opportunities for tax planning and structuring. We review each client’s personal and business considerations and give advice to maximise any tax incentives and exclusions.

Our clients use us to help set up or reorganise their business operations to ensure that their financial management is optimised and to regularise their tax affairs with SARS. We’ve helped our clients investing in Africa maximise their returns and attract lower taxation rates.

We’re familiar with the operation of offshore tax structures and the successful use of tax friendly jurisdictions.

While our tax practitioner registration is pending, we work closely with registered tax practitioners in the provision of any tax advice.

Our lawyers provide legal expertise for all your litigation matters

We have successfully guided our clients through litigation against the country’s largest law firms and companies. Our greatest compliment comes from our colleagues in South Africa’s traditional law firms who regularly recommend their clients to us in conflict situations. They recognise the experience, value and confidence we provide to clients faced with large litigation.

Whilst we consider alternate dispute resolution procedures, clients are often forced to proceed with litigation and require a strong team who can provide clarity and support in the litigation process.

We are located opposite the Western Cape High Court but we are also experienced in High Court litigation in different jurisdictions across the country. Our experienced approach to strategy, gathering evidence from third parties and trial preparation ensures that our clients are properly protected and prepared for the litigation process.

Our clients range from large corporates (including listed companies) to small business and individuals. We are geared toward managing large litigation matters but we are equally adept at handling matters that only focus on legal issues.
