SECURITY PRACTITIONER

North-West Province – Lichtenburg, Dudfield

Location:
Dudfield Operation, Lichtenburg, North West Province

Responsibilities:

Inspections of cameras and random inspections with the appointed security company on fences.
Legal compliance with regards to PSIRA and SAIDSA.
Ensure cameras are functioning and are efficient for the purpose. Availability of cameras
must exceed 90%.
Research, discuss and implement approved improvement initiatives.
Develop and safe keeping of all statistical reports, documentation and records with regards to security
management
Perform weekly meetings and liaise with the appointed security company and assess their performance
against the approved KPI.
Ensure contractual compliance of the appointed security company continuously

Experience and Qualifications:

Grade 12
PSIRA registered training security grade A
Training in camera installations
3 – 5 years’ experience in camera installation, set-up and maintenance
3 – 5 years’ experience in security management and asset protection
Experience in network setup and configuration.
Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
Valid Driver’s Licence

Skills and Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of Hikvision, Milestone, Dahua and other CCTV systems
Good understanding of CCTV cabling, power supplies, cameras, DVR’s/NVR’s, network switches and
power requirements

Works Manager

Location: Zeekoewater quarry

Province: Mpumalanga

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
 Ensure that all quarry activities achieve the required objectives.
 Mining activity is in compliance with EMP and otherenvironmental requirements.
 Manage the production of aggregate to justify volume demand requirement and
quality requirement of customers.
 Ensure adequate production capacity to meet volume demand by managing Overall
Equipment Efficiencies.
 Optimisation of maintenance of fixed and mobile equipment to ensure appropriate
Overall Equipment Efficiencies are met.
 Manage the implementation ofadministration policies and procedures.
 Lead and manage people toachieve performance objectives.
 Ensure compliance to all SHElegal and procedural requirements

Qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience required:
 Tertiary qualification, Diploma/Degree in Mining/Mechanical/Electrical engineering is a
requirement.
 Five (5) years working experience in a mining/quarry environment in a management role,
responsible for production efficiencies, operational costs and people management.
 Sound knowledge and working experience of mining and quarrying legislative requirements,
Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996, Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 etc.
 Experience in Ready-Mix Operational requirements will be advantageous.
 Blasting ticket applicable to open cast mining will be advantageous.
 Advanced Computer skills (MS Office, SAP) is a requirement.
 Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport is a requirement.

Responsibilities:

Developing, with the Operational Management, corrective measures of areas of noncompliance
identified during evaluations and audits.
Assisting and advising Management on environmentally related trends and legislation.
Conducting environmental audits at operational level.
Conducting induction and environmental awareness training within Dudfield.
Contributing to triple bottom line initiatives
Conducting research of environmental related information
Environmental input into operational aspects relating to the setting of operational strategy, mining,
processes, rehabilitation
Legal responsibility appointment (water, waste, NEMA)
Facilitating awareness of the relationship between environmental risk and short-term strategies that

Experience and Qualifications:

B.Sc. Environmental or Natural Sciences/Degree in Environmental Management
Five years’ experience in a mining or industrial/manufacturing environment
Valid Code 08 driver’s license
Must be declared medically fit after medical examination

Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of Environmental Law; Environmental auditing; Environmental management systems; Risk
management, Mine Health & Safety Act.

Business Unit HR Manager

Reporting directly to the Cementitious Business Unit Executive and with an indirect reporting line to
the Human Resources Executive, the incumbent will be based at SSC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
 Analysing the strategy and business plan of the Business Unit to determine the relevant
deliverables for the Business Unit’s Human Capital function.
 Developing the Business Unit Human Resource Strategy aligned to the Organisational and
Business Unit Strategy
 Leading and managing the human resources portfolio and team to achieve the functional deliverables.
 Business Unit HR budgets.
 Developing and implementing function specific control systems as required and ensure compliance.
 Managing strategic relationships.
 Identifying and managing HR risks across the Business Unit
 Ensuring that the Business Unit has the staff with the necessary talent and skill to be a
high performing business unit
 Successful implementation of approved transformation strategies across the Business Unit.
 Executing Social and Labour Plan commitments in the Business Unit
 Supporting and driving of the AfriSam Way in the Business Unit
 Working with the HR Executive and senior HR Management with regards to overall company policies
and procedures related to AfriSam’s overall HR Strategy. This is meant to ensure that all business
units (Cement, Aggregates, Readymix, Sales & Marketing as well as all Support Functions at SSC)
are aligned with regards to the company’s HR policies and the execution thereof.

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:
 A 4 Year Qualification in Industrial Psychology or HR Management
 Ten years’ experience in a mining and/or manufacturing environment, including:
o 5 years within a Business Partnering/ HR Generalist role
o 5 years within a Management Role in the Human Capital discipline in a large
corporate environment
 Sound knowledge of legislation related to the HR profession, Mining Charter and Social and
Labour Plans, HR systems and financial management. Sound knowledge and understanding of
the processes related Human Resources in a mining or manufacturing environment
 Advanced communication, reporting-, presenting-, conflict management, project
management, change management and strategic management skills.
 Good knowledge and understanding of talent management strategies, human resources
development, organisational effectiveness and ability to lead and manage people.

DEPOT SUPERIVISOR

Responsibilities:

Supervising the off-loading of bagged and bulk cement as per the depot product handling control
procedures
Ensuring that all the procedures relating to physical stock control are done correctly
Supervising depot yard personnel
Monitoring and taking corrective action to ensure the required safety practices in all yard activities
Assisting with the continued improvement of yard facilities and ensuring a high standard of depot
housekeeping
Monitoring Forklift Fuel Consumption

Experience and Qualifications:

Grade 12 and Forklift Driver’s license
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a product handling/warehouse environment
Good knowledge of depot traffic movements and logistics regarding efficiency and safety requirements

11.Good knowledge of bulk cement product handling regarding rail and transporter tankers and cement
silos
