Job Purpose
Co-ordinates sequences associated with monitoring contractors and service providers compliance
with contractual terms and conditions, standards, procedures, regulations and specifications.

Key Responsibility Areas
Coordinates tasks/activities associated with the implementation of procedures and monitors
contractors and service providers compliance with standard and specifications in all road
and storm-water maintenance work.
Performs specific administrative tasks/activities associated with the updating and
maintaining records/information of work in progress and completed works.
Develops the technical know-how and understanding of emerging contractors on specific
applications, procedures and sequences applicable to contracting and maintenance work.
Participates in site discussions with contractors, service providers and other relevant
stakeholders and provides information on procedures or outcomes related to the works.

Bachelor of Science Degree (NQF Level 8) in Land Surveying or equivalent and must be a
registered Professional Land Surveyor with registration to practice in South Africa.

Must be registered as a Sectional Title Practitioner and satisfies the requirements of Section
5(2) of The Sectional Titles Act

Valid motor vehicle driving license

5 years post registration experience with the South African Geomatics Council

Bachelor of Science Degree (NQF Level 8) in Land Surveying or equivalent and must be a
registered Professional Land Surveyor with registration to practice in South Africa

Job Purpose
Provides advices on technical maintenance requirements and controls compliance requirements, work programmes and administrative applications through interaction with specific functions of the HV Operations Department and within the Branch.

Key Responsibility Areas
Evaluates and comments on options and alternatives associated with High Voltage cables.

  • Provides technical advice and controls the key performance areas and outputs associated with the Technical Administration Division of the HV cables Branch and assist when equipment failure or abnormal events occur in the network.
  • Co-ordinates and controls tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
  • Implements procedures and systems to monitor and control maintenance work programmes, material requirement, equipment status and execution of tasks.
  • Applies technical evaluative and interpretative techniques to conduct assessments and
    monitor conformity to standards
  • Programmes maintenance, construction and inspection based on criteria’s and requirements.
  • Prepares and collates the contract documentation and evaluation of tender submissions for
    High Voltage cables.
  • Investigates, introduces and manages best practice approaches to specific condition
    assessment and maintenance programmes of High Voltage plant, equipment and
    infrastructure of all HV cables.
  • Performs switching operations during commissioning, operational and emergency conditions
    on the medium and high-volume system (from 6,6kV to 275kV).
  • Researches relevant engineering technologies and regulatory practices applicable to electrical programmes and interventions.
  • Co-ordinates record updating and reporting requirements on functions/activities with the
    Branch.
  • Promotes and supports safety and accident prevention and ensure compliance to the OHS
    Act.
