MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
- NQF-6 Qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative or project support role
- Public Sector administrative experience will be an added advantage
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Facilitate the completion and submission of all project administrative requirements,
ensuring compliance with established processes and obtaining the necessary approvals. - Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of special projects and skills
development initiatives. - Prepare and manage documentation, including reports, presentations, and
correspondence. - Maintain accurate records and databases for all projects and programs.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes for project-related meetings.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for project team members and stakeholders
- PROJECT COORDINATION
- Maintains project master schedule and supports the Manager(s) on the achievement of
project outputs. - Compiles a database of stakeholders and contact details.
- Schedules project meetings and circulates project documentation before meetings.
- Records and distributes project meeting minutes to relevant stakeholders.
- Tracks and manages contemplated changes with stakeholders.
- Uses project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets
and expenditures. - Tracks progress and quality of work being performed in line with project deliverables.
- Keeps Manager(s) informed on project status and alerts stakeholders to project risks.
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL ADVERT - Monitors project costs to prevent overspending.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly project status reports and submits them to the Manager
(s). - Prepares and submits project close-out reports to the Manager (s) for sign-off.
- SKILLS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
- Assist in the coordination and administration of skills development programs and initiatives.
- Support the development of training materials and resources in collaboration with the Skills
Development Unit. - Monitor and report on the progress of skills development activities and initiatives
- STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Establishes and maintains effective working relations with Unit Managers.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and
effective communication. - Build and maintain relationships that meet CBEs’ core values with stakeholders to support
project objectives and skills development goals. - Address stakeholder inquiries and provide information as needed to foster positive
relationships. - Solves problems creatively whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity

JUNIOR IT ADMINISTRATOR

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
- NQF Level 5 Qualification in Information Technology (IT) or an equivalent field with MCSE / A+
and N Certification, Cloud Computing, cyber security and Office 365 - One (1) year experience supporting networks with exposure to ITIL processes, knowledge of
SAGE, Cloud Computing, cyber security and Office 365.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- PROVIDE NETWORK ADMINISTRATION
- Computer and User Account creation and maintenance on the Domain and Application
Servers - Test and load of new patches and software releases.
- Proactively perform disk management and performance
- Monitor on the network coverage and the servers.
- Evaluate new Hardware and Software products.
- Implement and support all CBE approved desktop operating systems and software
applications. - Software troubleshooting and hardware repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure the data centre is always locked and secured.
- Implement requested hardware Installations, Moves, Adds, Changes.
- PROVIDE IT SECURITY INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT
- Provision of Information Security including the Anti-Virus Service for users.
- Install and maintain antivirus to all servers and workstation
- Respond to IT security incidents and vulnerabilities
- Monitor and resolve security alerts on the network
- Maintain uptime security of the firewall, VPN, antivirus for all servers and workstation
- Assist in security service information, fulfilment and incident request
- Ensures that the internet connectivity for the organisation is secured.
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL ADVERT - Patches, monitors systems, works through logs, conducts testing of up and operational
servers daily. - Assign appropriate secured access and allocate adequate storage for messaging
- Revise and validate all user’s authentication
- Manage secured communication of emails, telephone system, video system.
- PROVIDE DESKTOP USER SUPPORT
- Receive and analyse a new user request to determine the nature and extent of the support
to be provided - Provide a single point of contact for all ICT service requests and incident resolutions
- Provide network and end-user support
- Resolve all network problems satisfactorily in a timely manner with focus on providing a
high level of support for all users - Provide IT support telephonically, face-to-face and remotely
- Troubleshoot, manage and resolve Network-related calls within agreed time frame
- Test the solution to ensure that the diagnosed problem is resolved
- Escalate the problem to the relevant role players for a solution
- Ensure that escalated problems are resolved within the allocated time frame
- Assist in identifying end-user training requirements
- PROVIDE IT SERVICE CONTINUITY
- Coordinate the Disaster Recovery activities
- Participate in the development and implementation of Disaster Recovery Plan
- Monitor and manage vulnerability activities across the network
- Provide data backup and restore activities
- Monitor the equipment/system/application and dependent equipment/systems to ensure
that the equipment/system operates according to standards and specifications
- INSTALL AND MAINTAIN IT APPLICATION AND SYSTEMS
- Implement new applications/systems due to organisational requirements
- Determine dependencies and independencies to other applications/systems and the
applicable impact - Inform the application/system owners of dependent and the relevant actions required
- Conduct the appropriate pre-implementation testing of new applications/systems
- DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT IT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
- Receive and analyse a policy/procedure to be implemented in the IT environment
- Determine the actions for the implementation of the policies and procedures
- Assist with the implementation of the policies and procedures to ensure effective and

The Council for the Built Environment (CBE), located in Hillcrest, Pretoria, has the above internship
programme available for immediate appointment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
- NQF Level 6 in Information Technology (IT) or any related qualification within the ICT
space. - The following certificates will be advantageous: ITIL Certification, COBIT Certification,
SAGE, Cloud Computing, cyber security, and Office 365 and Project Management
Certification. - Three (3) years of experience supporting Microsoft Servers, Cisco, Cloud Computing, DNS
Services and Cybersecurity VPN Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT APPLICATION AND SYSTEMS SOLUTIONS FOR CBE
- Analyze and identify issues and bottlenecks in application performance.
- Identify possible technologies that will suit the company requirements.
- Conduct required research and development activities in this regard.
- Define and ensure the implementation of support processes for chosen application
architecture. - Ensure security of all application systems.
- Ensure that all users are trained on CBE’s required software.
- Ensure the implementation and management of database.
- Consider and evaluate trends and future developments and make recommendations to
management. - Evaluate user requirements within application and system Functionalities and ensure that
applications meet user requirements. - Liaise with all relevant application support organizations / vendors to ensure that the
application is efficiently managed. - Ensure that new modules functioning are understood before embarking on upgrading
exercises. - Provide information to management / users with regard to upgrades and impact of upgrade
on business.

- HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Ensures performance agreements of the subordinates are signed
- Ensure performance objectives of the subordinates are set
- Ensures ongoing training and development of the subordinates.
