Job Purpose
Provides authorized users the right to use eThekwini Municipality IT systems and services that the
municipality hosts, while preventing access to non-authorized users.

This post reports to MANAGER (IT SECURITY)

Key Responsibility Areas

Administer access to the various data systems.
Participates in the reviewing of Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
Provides Technical support to users for access incidents.
Provides information with regards to system audits as directed.
Provide user support on security.
Conducts periodic system clean-up.

Essential Requirements

Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related field.
3 years relevant experience

Job Purpose
Responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring and administration of information
Technology security Systems for the Municipality.

This post reports to MANAGER (IT SECURITY)

Key Responsibility Areas

Maintain, Control and operate the server and application security systems and infrastructure.
Implement IT security systems and fault management support procedures for assigned
systems.
Monitor IT systems.
Analyse logs to help the Municipality by being proactive in its security methodology.
Monitor the security posture of IT systems and advice on weaknesses identified and provide
recommendations for improvements.
