About the Position

The Unit situated in Woodmead, Johannesburg has a vacancy for a skilled Specialist: Legal Delivery as driven by the SARS Strategic Intent and Vision 2024. Candidates should possess excellent knowledge and interpretation of the SARS functional policies and procedures, including monitoring their consistent application within the organisation. You should also have a sound knowledge and understanding of the various taxes administered by SARS, the ability to mentor and coach others on technical matters with the purpose of ensuring that SARS is interpreting and applying the legislative framework effectively and accurately as well as experience in dispute resolutions. Successful candidates should have an excellent ability to demonstrate concern for customer expectations and needs. Further, successful candidates should possess excellent research, analytical, attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills to facilitate various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) proceedings and conclude legal agreements.

Job Purpose

To represent SARS during ADR process, to do presentations to the internal governance committees as well the drafting of legal agreements.  In addition, to provide expertise, advice, and support to develop operational implementation plans and / or associated service delivery processes, by providing a full suite of services of the unit, prepare solutions to new precedents for consideration, and contribute to the resolution of complex issues facing the unit, to continuously enhance service delivery.

Education and Experience

B. Law (LLB), an Admitted Attorney and 8-10 years’ experience in a dispute resolution environment, of which 3-4 years ideally at operational specialist level.

Job Purpose
