Job Description:

This role reports into the Manufacturing Function part of the Products and Services Department.

Based on current and anticipated future workload within the De Beers Technologies, Manufacturing team, a need to employ a young and dynamic mechanical artisan to assist in mechanical assembly of De Beers Technologies products has arisen. Due to the small nature of the manufacturing team, the prospective incumbent may also be required to carry out additional trade related tasks. 

The requisite skills sought for this position are the ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, then assemble, and integrate mechanical and pneumatic systems and other related activitiesto deliver quality products.

 Your role will include:

• Read, interpret, and assemble trade specific items according to design diagrams and drawings,
• Agility to adapt to changing production schedules and priorities,
• Perform trade related assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical aspects of equipment and parts according to maintenance requirements,
• Propose design improvements and best practices in mechanical assembly methods and processes, for a more efficient manufacturing process,
• Contribute towards improvements in assembly procedures and safe work procedures/instructions,
• Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures,

Qualifications:

Formal qualifications:

• Minimum of N3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• A mechanical trade certificate acquired from a recognised and approved trade training centre.

Additional requirements:

• 5 years or more in post qualification experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
• Computer literate in the Microsoft suite of packages.
• Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Valid Code 08/EB Driver’s License will be advantageous.

Ensure delivery of in-scope bank reconciliation and general accounting activities to Anglo American business units (EMEA). • Responsible for month-end close activities.
• Preparation of bank reconciliations.

Job Description:

The Analyst Data Geotechnical is responsible for all geotechnical instrumentation used in the department, as well as to assist the Strata Control Assistants and Strat Control Officers, with daily tasks.

Below are some of the key responsibilities you will be required to execute.

• Prepare and process all underground GPR scans daily.
• Prepare and process graphical representation for Strata Control Officer’s scrutiny and action on the same day.
• Assist the Strata Control Officer with preparation of the GPR reports and recommendations.
• Conduct mapping of the designated scanned areas for underground GPR scanning of all tip areas and ancillary excavations.
• Conduct monthly routine GPR scanning as required by Strata Control Officer or management.
• Write GPR reports and communicate it to the Engineering and Rock Engineering department.
• Conduct GPR planning and communicate it to the Engineering and Rock Engineering department.
• Carry the control console for GPR to ensure data integrity during collection.
• Ensure all tips and ancillary excavations are scanned and that fall of ground (FOG) lights are installed as per standard.
• Install and monitor underground Rock Mass Monitoring instrumentation.
• Assist the SCO with TARP RED panel visits and follow ups.
• Assist with Rock Engineering projects and testing of new support products.
• Perform quality control on secondary support installations.
• Plotting of Q-ratings onto the Live Mine Plan daily.
• Plotting of GPR scans on Live Mine Plan daily.
• Update the TARP register and TARP turnaround times on a weekly basis.

This role is in the engineering department at a C3 level reporting to the Shaft Rock Engineer.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/ Matric
• Studying towards the Strata Control Officer (Certificate) – advantageous

Experience:

• At least two (2) years’ experience in Rock Engineering environment

Technical Skills:

• Good interpretation skills in analysing borehole camera.
• Computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
• Proficient in application of expertise and technology.

Current and anticipated future increase in workload within the De Beers Ignite Commercial Technology team, necessitates for a need to employ a young and dynamic electrical artisan to carry out electrical  assembly and wiring of machines and parts to expected quality standards and taking into account safety related matters.

Due to the small nature of De Beers Ignite production team, the prospective incumbent is required to carry out additional related tasks.

The requisite skills sought for this position are an ability to read, interpret, and assemble electric and control system panels and machines. Drilling, tapping, basic grinding and electronic soldering skills are an additional requirement.  

Qualifications:

• A minimum of N3 Electrical qualification or an equivalent Electrical qualification. A trade certificate is recommended.

• Electrical assembly of low voltage electric panels or machines or other switchgear at voltage levels from 5V DC up to 240V AC,
• An ability to read and interpret electrical drawings is a must.
• Basic hand skills and use of basic electrical tools is a must.
• A minimum 3 year’s post qualification experience is a must,
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous,
• Computer literacy in the Microsoft suite of packages is recommended,

The Financial Reporting Accountant plays a pivotal role in the reporting of high-quality financial information. The FRA has the ability to monitor and diagnose financial and operational processes that impact financial processes and systems. The FRA is pivotal to:

-The preparation of the annual financial statements required for external reporting

-Accurate reporting of consolidated financial data

-Collects and analyses financial data for monthly, forecast and budget reporting and ensuring that all reporting complies with reporting regulations

-Presents data accurately and identifies accounting issues, understands and resolves the issues on a timely basis.

-In collaboration with Group Tax, manages the tax compliance requirements, preparations of income tax returns, filings and payments applicable to countries in which the company operates.

Key Tasks:

• Preparation and submission of the monthly, interim and annual HFM/AFC reporting pack including the Annual Financial Statements for DBCM ensuring integrity of the income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement in adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards, Company standards and legislative/regulatory requirements
• Working with the Financial Controller in formulating adequate procedures and controls to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with IFRS
• Input data submissions, ensuring accuracy with all validations cleared and/or understood on primary financial information and all required statutory disclosure notes
• Prepares the reports (BU reporting, preparation of HFM/AFC, first review of tax pack and cash flow) on time and ensures that they contain relevant and accurate information
• Preparation and submission of the Forecast, Business Plan HFM/AFC reporting packs
• Working with the Group Financial Reporting Team, ensuring financial control and governance is maintained including the Compliance Transformation Project (SOX Compliance) for DBCM
• Support the management of the external audit process
• Working with Group Tax to consolidate and ensure timely submission of approved corporate direct and indirect tax returns for DBCM to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting
• Calculating free cash flow and the preparation of the bi-annual and/or cyclical Entity dividend declarations and administration
• Preparation of Cash Flow Funding requirements, any internal/external audit and Group requirements

Qualifications:

  • Support HME/Plant personnel by ensuring that the necessary HME/Plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks follow SMP (Standard Maintenance Practice) to improve work practices and operational targets.
  • Ensure installations, commissioning of infrastructure and post-installation work testing for functionality are executed following specifications to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Assistance:
  • Ensure oil samples are taken and labelled following workshop procedures to enable the Laboratory to conduct the necessary analysis and testing.
  • Assist the supervisor and co-workers according to their level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.

This role is in Engineering & Maintenance (ENG) department on a band J4 level reporting to the Per OrgStructure, published in February 2024

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Qualifications:

Experience required: 

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Security or equivalent environment
• Intermediate level of computer literacy: MS Office, SAP systems and security systems (Bi or iBase) • Basic knowledge of applicable business reports writing

• Numeracy and Literacy

• Applicable SAPS firearm competency

The role of Communications Executive, Venetia Mine will be central in collaborating with the Mine leadership team, employees, contractors and various external stakeholders to implement and oversee communication plans in support of the Group Strategy.

The role will primarily focus on the following key priorities:

Key Tasks

• Develop and implement an integrated communication plan for Venetia Mine that supports the company’s purpose and strategy
• Lead the internal communications element of strategic business improvement initiatives and change management projects
• Support Venetia Leadership Team in executing their communications responsibilities and delivering specific departmental objectives including annual media training
• Drive employee engagement through coordinating quarterly engagement sessions across various workforce levels
• Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify issues impacting operations and develop communication interventions as required
• Coordinate crisis communications in line with the Group’s broader crisis management plan
• Lead conceptualising and develop briefing documents for photography/video shoots
• Oversee overall management of internal and external events, campaigns and public relations
• Conduct communication and perception surveys to gauge effectiveness of communication interventions
• Overall responsibility of the mine’s communications and media budget and monitors spend
• Manage service provides in line with the mine’s local procurement strategy
• Build and nurture relationships with local media as well as proactively responding to media inquiries and requests for interviews
• Managing media site visits and ensuring smooth coordination with journalists and site teams.     

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• A degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or any other relevant field required.
• 8+ years’ experience in implementing communication plans, channels and campaigns at a corporate and operational level.
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Relevant experience in building and maintaining the organisation’s reputation and brand with internal and external stakeholders, interested parties and the public.
• Demonstrable and proven track record of developing, packaging and delivering successful internal and employee engagement campaigns.
• Understanding of the South African mining industry, including social issues.
