PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Operator: Time and Attendance is responsible for efficient and accurate administration of time and attendance input and output – to the prescribed standards.

WORK OF ROLE

  • Apply system and access control during safety drives, that de-zone and zoning employees, and draw the reports destined for DMR stamp and sign all
    received input documents and all processed documents
  • Apply system and access control during the section 54 by de-zoning and zoning employees
  • Visitors take-on

  • Employee zones update – access control by allocating zones and sequence
  • Level control – regulating the clocking times for safety reasons
  • Parades input
  • Receive calls logged to central, assist with logged calls and log calls to personnel on standby

This role is responsible to ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements regarding theoretical and practical skills development facilities underground with reference to competence and legal appointments. Execution and delivery of all technical mining skills training phases in the underground (constrained) environment. The maintenance of MQA accreditation criteria within the designated area of responsibility. In addition, all responsibilities of a legally appointed Miner are incorporated within this role.

Provide learners with the required exposure to institutional learning and workplace experience that will enable them to obtain a qualification, thus meeting the needs and requirements of the Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine operations. In addition, it provides the relevant information needed to journey this qualification to help ensure that on-and off the-job training is successful for all involved.

WORK OF ROLE

  • Adhere to basic occupational health and safety practices pertaining to mining operations

    This role is responsible for managing the discipline of engineering supervisory, budget and technical service. Compliance to operating relevant procedure work instructions, MHSA compliance, and GTS-group technical standards. Coordinate special projects and shutdowns. Manage PM compliance and prioritize duties towards maintenance of equipment and services. Responsible for budget setting and control, contactor management and quality management.
  2. Work of Role
  • Assist the operation management team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the crushing process in achieving throughput objectives
  • Evaluate, monitor, and provide continuous feedback to the section regarding the performance efficiencies, standards of the section labour, equipment, budget and process targets
  • Identify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the section’s performance

  • Oversee that all work practices are executed in compliance with legal requirements

The Section Manager has the Legal accountability with a 2.14.1, 2.14.2 and 2.14.3 or a 2.6.1 appointment in terms of the Minerals Act and Regulations and is required to assist the manager in the control, management, and direction of the underground workings of the mine, as stipulated by the regulations.
