Brief Role Description

To plan, design, develop and introduce the provision, modification and maintenance of material handling facilities, transport, packaging, processes and systems for the optimal material flow from source to point of use to support Production, P&A and Localizations and Export projects in achieving their scheduled targets. To analyze, maintain and control the various Logistics Planning Contracts by liaison with the necessary VWSA departments and external contractors in order to reduce costs and improve methods of control on an ongoing basis.

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Planning and preparing detailed logistics material flow concepts in production and warehouse environments for optimum solutions.
  • Preparing detailed layouts, drawings and job specifications for specialized facilities
  • Conceiving, designing and procuring logistics facilities, i.e. stillages, pallets, dunnage, trolleys, racking, general storage facilities and packaging based on analysis and interpretation of requirements for new projects, production requests
  • Defining detailed project plans for coordinating and monitoring
  • Preparing Enquiry Requests to obtain quotations from suppliers
  • Evaluating adjudicated quotations then negotiating with suppliers
  • Preparing appropriation requests to justify capital expenditure
  • Preparing and issuing purchase requisitions.
  • Arranging for project/facility/service acceptance and hand-over by conducting demonstrations of equipment or facilities (e.g. through physical trials).
  • Preparation of budget prices to be used for corporate investment programs, cost studies, localization and export projects.
  • Developing and introducing packaging specifications.
  • Drafting and updating Logistics Material Handling Contract specifications

Qualification requirements

Degree or National Diploma in fields of either Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics or Purchasing

Experience needed

3 years’ experience with logistics processes within manufacturing environment. 

At least 18 months’ experience in Project Management

Essentials

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who is able to operate on his/her own requiring minimum supervision and able to operate under pressure.
  • Good planning, organizing and decision-making abilities in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able communicator with good written and verbal skills.

Brief Role Description

To take ownership and responsibility for the entire automation system (IT + OT) considerations during project implementation as well as operational performance of the automation systems interfacing into the various IT systems; including failure analysis, maintenance, optimization analysis and future technologies

Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Take responsibility of the integrated automation systems (information & operational technology) within Paint shop.
  • Optimise and maintain operational performance of both IT & OT systems.
  • Research and introduction of new future technologies in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders internal & external to identify opportunities to solve problems through technological advancements and digitalisation.
  • Analyzing manufacturing trends and technologies for implementation to improve key KPIs.

  • Provide knowledge and support to Paint Shop maintenance personnel during breakdowns (including after-hours).

  • Identify obsolete equipment, thereby finding new sustained solutions for implementation.
  • Constantly identify and drive processes towards to the company’s vision of a total digital factory by regular benchmarking of other VW plants.
  • Manage and maintain programs for software based applications by creating scheduled checks.
  • Manage and maintain backups & archiving of software and applications.
  • Manage & ensure Shopfloor IT systems are updated with latest bug & security patches as per specified intervals.
  • Perform programming & diagnostics on automation systems using engineering tools in order to reduce downtime or optimization activities.
  • Implement, manage and maintain change management procedures using documented processes.
  • Compile & maintain a complete IT & OT asset list of all Paint shop equipment utilizing manual & automatic processes to ensure good record keeping and compliance as per VW standards

Qualification requirements

Have a National Diploma / Degree in Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronic Engineering

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in control system technologies or in the maintaining of shop floor IT.

Essentials

  • Must be able to implement & maintain systems including the archiving and backing up of programs & applications.
  • Excellent hardware and OS knowledge both on desktops PC’s & IPC’s.
  • Good understanding of virtualized environments.
  • Good understanding of network protocols and networking devices.

Brief Role Description

The employees are independently responsible for the repair support of the sales partners in the respective market, as well as active field observation of the product quality of the vehicles on the market. Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Providing prompt and qualified repair support (repair advice) to the AUDI, VW & VW Commercial dealership network in South Africa and in SSA markets
  • Repairing, diagnosing and analysis, of vehicles that have been returned to the TSC recruitment.
  • Flying doctor function, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles onsite at a dealer
  • Providing technical support via remote diagnosis to the dealer.
  • HV Electric vehicles support, analyzing & diagnosing, of electric vehicles.
  • Minimizing operational costs, covering warranty and goodwill expenses, by ensuring timely and effective development, implementation, and dissemination of information to the Dealers.
  • Assessing technical service information solutions for product issues and ensuring timely dissemination of all pertinent information related to the Dealer Network.
  • Collaborating with Quality Divisions within the Group to update and inform Dealer organization about the progress in formulating actions to resolve technical issues reported.
  • Supporting the Customer interaction Centre for all technical queries related to vehicles in the market.

Qualification requirements

NN Diploma / National Diploma / Degree in Electrical /Mechanical / Electronics Engineering or Motor Mechanic/Auto Electrician Trade Certificate with a VW/AUDI Diagnostic / Master Technician Certificate.

Experience needed

Minimum 5-10 years postgraduate work experience related to mechanical, electrical fault finding and development of technical solutions.

Brief Role Description

To ensure that all activities set out by Supervision are undertaken and completed by the Engineering Data Controller to ensure all data bases are completed on time and to provide product support regarding technical information company wide. Possible Tasks within this Role

  • Create and maintain the Bill of Materials for various VWSA projects
  • Produce a VWSA specific data base, check and ensure for correctness before issued to the Company.
  • Document the receipt of Data Change Notifications (DCN) and convert the engineering information given into the TS related data, by appropriate coding
  • Analyze and evaluate all changes that have taken place on the VW Group UMF’s
  • Co-ordinate on-line coding and all supporting computerized systems
  • Establish Prototype Vehicle build parts list using TIS
  • Co-ordinate VW Group and VWSA Engineering changes within VWSA
  • Track the Engineering Changes through the different phases
  • Collate, create and summarize ECR reports/responses related to investment costs and forward to VWAG
