The xneelo Cape Town office is looking for an experienced Design System Specialist who thrives on driving design systems strategy, ideation, execution, problem-solving, and product delivery.

We are overhauling our existing customer self-help system and designing new products. We’re proud to say that we’ve put together a fully functioning design system, but we need a new team member to take it to the next level.

As a Design System Specialist, you will:
  • Improve and expand our design system by developing and refining components to ensure consistency and usability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive style guides, patterns, components, and their documentation, ensuring that our Design System is an accessible, living resource for all teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and UX designers to ensure components are consistently applied and adopted across different product teams.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the design system to ensure that all components comply with the latest design standards.
  • Mentor, guide and collaborate with the UX team through design library activities, such as component usage, existing restrictions, and how to maintain consistency across designs.
  • Work alongside the UX writer to integrate the content style guide and microcopy library into the design library, enabling the UX designers to easily apply the guidelines to their designs.
  • Be the voice advocating and driving decisions about our design system roadmap and outcomes. Act as the primary point of contact for questions or issues related to the design system, ensuring that any discrepancies are resolved.

  • 5-7 years of UX and UI design experience, with at least 3 years focused on design systems
  • A diploma or equivalent in the design field

Xneelo, a leading web hosting company in South Africa, seeks the services of a Linux Systems Administrator to join the team that specialises in the troubleshooting and repairing of broken or degraded large-scale, Linux-based hosting systems, identifying trends based on system alerts, while also being a technical point of escalation to the contact centre’s Support Consultants.  

The role can be based at the company’s head office in Durbanville, South Africa or remotely in the SAST time zone. 

What you’ll do:

Senior Full Stack Web Developer: Cloud Services

Xneelo is looking for senior full-stack developers to spearhead the development of our brand-new product: xneelo Cloud.

Xneelo Cloud is a versatile, Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud product offering scalable compute, storage, and network resources. This product is currently in beta, and is getting ready for full market release in the near future.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is launching a new flagship Cloud product for xneelo. Our initial launch is focused on the South African market, and rapidly building on the Cloud features to add ongoing value to our customers. Once this is achieved, we plan to expand to the global market.

The Cloud product team is a close-knit, engaged, and productive group that is passionate about Cloud. As a developer in the team you’ll be responsible for building the tools, services and dashboards that our customers use to create their own virtualised environments.

You’ll work closely with the infrastructure team, building on top of the underlying compute and storage infrastructure, powered by OpenStack and Ceph. Python is primarily used to build and customise our open-source dashboard. 

The Cloud team is also pioneering Go as the team’s primary language, whereas Ruby on Rails is more widely used within xneelo. Other items in our tech stack toolbox are Typescript, React, k8s, Redis, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Gitlab to name a few.
