The City of Ekurhuleni (City) hereby invites applications from suitable individuals to be included in the panel of candidates from which the City can appoint non-executive directors of the municipality’s entities, namely the Ekurhuleni Housing Company (EHC) and Ekurhuleni Water Care Company (ERWAT).

Minimum Requirements:

  • B Degree at NQF Level 7
  • Candidates must be suited for appointment by virtue of their qualifications, expertise and experience in the fields of Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, Law & Compliance, Actuarial Science, Information & Communication Technology, Investment Management, Finance, InternalAuditing, Risk Management, Infrastructure Development and Project Management, Development Finance, Socio-economic Development, Strategic Planning and Performance Management, Business, Pension Fund Management, Social Housing, Engineering, Built Environment, Community Activism and Participation, Governance and Public Sector and or Local Government Administration.
  • Applicants must possess no less than 8 years’ management experience in any of the specialist areas enlisted above.
  • Professional registration/certification in the fields of accounting, finance, auditing, law, engineering, built environment, risk management, and ICT will be an added advantage.
  • Certification from the Institute of Directors South Africa (IODSA), as Certified Director, will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants must not be disqualified to be appointed as non-executive director in terms of section 93F of the Municipal Systems Act.

  • Unemployed
  • Willing to attend last mile delivery trainee programme
  • Not participating in CoE Job Creation programme

Core Responsibilities:

  • Attend all theoretical and practical learning sessions and undertake all learning conscientiously.
  • Be available for and participate in all learning and work experience required by the programme
  • Comply with workplace policies and procedures for the primary employer and the host organization/s;
  • Complete any timesheets and any written and practical assessment tools to record relevant workplace experience;
  • Work for the employer and/or host organization as part of the learning process; and
  • Execute the core responsibilities required by the last mile delivery trainee programme
