What will you do?

We are looking for full-time face to face Commercial Insurance Specialists also called Tied Agents or Brokers in the industry to join our team.  This role will be based in Eastern/Southern Cape. The Commercial Insurance Specialist will work with clients to identify their insurance needs and sell appropriate policies. The ideal candidate will be required to build and maintain relationships with clients, provide exceptional customer service and possess strong negotiation skills. MiWay Business Insurance offers a competitive remuneration model with attractive commission and tools of the trade.

Minimum Requirements

•    NQF4/Matric/Standard 10
•    FAIS credits/Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on Dofa)
•    Financial Services Board Regulatory Exams (RE5) completed
•    Must have your own reliable transport
•    Valid code B driver’s license

Minimum Experience

•    Minimum 2 years’ experience in the commercial insurance industry
•    Minimum 2 years’ experience in face-to-face business

•    To actively source and grow your portfolio of clients 
•    To provide world class service to your portfolio of clients, thereby ensuring a low lapse rate

Job description

The successful candidate will be required to manage and grow the quantity and quality of business received from the MiWay Broker Consultant (BC) team. The role entails the day-to-day operational management of the BC team as well as the development of strong relationships with both existing and new partnering brokerages.

Minimum Qualification Required

  • Grade 12/Standard 10/NQF 4
  • RE and FAIS accredited
  • Tertiary qualifications will be beneficial

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ in short-term insurance experience
  • 5-year portfolio management experience or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years’ broker distribution experience with a proven track record
  • Must have existing broker relationships
  • Must have a proven track record of managing broker consultants or sales staff.
  • Commercial and Personal Lines insurance experience is essential

Deliverables include, but will not be limited to

  • Grow market share amongst short term insurance brokers with personal lines and commercial insurance products.
  • Identify growth opportunities outside of scope.
