Job Description:

As our Electrician (MV)of your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Safety, Health, and Environment

  • Performance and Delivery
  • Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:
    • Maintain and test all equipment/machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability and availability within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
    • Conduct inspections to identify possible failures and repair or raise notifications for repairs.
    • Ensure effective plant equipment and related machinery maintenance for optimal utilisation and availability to maximise production and throughput schedules.
    • Identify and report defects, equipment failures and time required for repairs to the Supervisor to enable applicable decision-making, action planning and problem resolution.
    • Execute work as per Operating Model standards and procedures.
    • Complete job cards thoroughly and return them on time.
    • Keep all toolboxes and tools clean and sound.
    • Ensure proper communication and handover of outstanding tasks between shifts and day-shift teams.
  • Maintenance Efficiency:
    • Ensure equipment installations and commissioning are maintained as specified in the maintenance strategy.
    • Infrastructure and post-installation work testing for functionality is executed per specifications within the agreed schedule and budgetary limits.
    • Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against ad hoc jobs to meet operational targets, minimise downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance equipment efficiency.
  • Assistance and Practices:
    • Provide timely, proactive maintenance advice aligned with best practices to prevent issues and improve overall competence.
    • Communicate with the appropriate personnel to organise the necessary resources, including equipment and personnel assistance, to ensure the successful completion of a task.
    • Support the Supervisor and co-workers by following company policies and utilising their expertise when instructed or in the absence of the responsible person to help achieve functional objectives.
  • People Development:
    • Identify and utilise on-the-job learning opportunities to achieve the required competency levels.
    • Attend all new relevant training and skills provided for the job.

This role is in Engineering & Maintenance (ENG) department on a band 9(J4) level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Certificate/ N3 Technical
    • Occupational Red Seal Certificate as an Electrician
    • Medium Volt (MV) Certificate
    • SA Drivers Licence

Technical Knowledge

  • Must have 2 years of operational experience as an Electrician, specifically with 3kV-11kV systems.
  • Understand the company’s policies and procedures related to the role.
  • Knowledge of PLC exposure and the ability to perform high and low voltage fault finding.
  • Awareness of lock-out procedures and their implementation.

  • Establish required interfacing (human and technical) to ensure alignment of all mining schedules with the Master schedule.

  • Early identification of variances and initiating formal change processes when applicable.
  • Technology Utilization:
  • Proficiently using advanced scheduling software and tools to create, update, and optimise project schedules.

Job Description:

As the Engineering Specialist production, you are expected to effectively execute and monitor the operations asset management program, audits, compliance, and continuous improvement diagnostics. Your responsibilities will also include assessing key maintenance functions as well as recommending improvements to the maintenance process from audit finding.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assist the Senior Mechanical Engineer in developing an operational plan for the year to support the achievement of throughput objectives.
  • Liaise with the Senior Mechanical Engineer regarding daily, weekly and monthly progress to plan, budget and employees resources.
  • Evaluate, monitor and provide continuous feedback to the section regarding the performance efficiencies, standards of the section labour, equipment, budget and process targets.
  • Review operational plan and re-assign targets and objectives to subordinates. Regularly communicate progress of section against operational targets and objectives Allocate labour resources and equipment to scheduled and priority activities so as to maintain and ensure high levels of labour, equipment and operational performance standards.
  • Liaise with the other Engineering Specialists, Section Engineers and Foremen to ensure that any problems that could overlap with other sections are pro-actively identified and discussed.
  • Identify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the sections performance.
  • Ensure that all the data captures on the operational and technical management information and control systems are accurate and timeous.
  • Regularly review operational and technical data to extract trends, identify problems and comply management reports.

This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to Senior Mechanical Manager

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Diploma / Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Or Relevant Trade in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering Foreman Certificate advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 8 Years operational experience of which 5 years in a foreman or Supervisor position

  • Assistance:

  • Assist the supervisor and co-workers according to their level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible person’s absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.
  • Pre-Shift Inspections:
  • Do pre-shift inspections of vehicles, equipment, machines, machine parts, and components to check functionality and safety and prevent asset injuries and damage.
  • Ensure that operations occur within prescribed processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Continuously observe and monitor equipment/vehicle performance against standards.
  • Identify non-conformances or deviations and report these to the direct supervisor to ensure defects are followed up on and attended to.

This role is in Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) Department at a Band J6 reporting to the Supervisor.

    • Deliver resources (materials, spares, and services) to the workplace ahead of schedule to meet the business objective.
    • Specify the materials for each work package/job card in the budget per the operating standard requirements.
  • Ad hoc work: Monitor Resource availability (Daily):
    • Run Transaction =ZG_EAM_RSR_DSP – Resource Status Report, displayed daily to get a list of required resources needed for the planned tasks as a Resource Status Report (RSR Report).
    • Ensure availability of materials, specialised tools, services & equipment.
  • In most cases, there will be enough flexibility in the completion windows and resourcing options to ensure that work can be scheduled and resourced using standard arrangements for acquiring and delivering materials, special tools, and services.
  • In some instances, meeting the scheduled start time for a task may require a decision to either prioritise assignment to critical path work, approve the expediting of items, change from a routine supplier, or re-allocating resources from other work. In such cases, these decisions are escalated to the critical stakeholders for a decision.
    • Adhere to requests from the Supervisor.
  • Output:
  • Materials, specialised tools, services, and equipment are available when required.
  • Deliver resources to enable work execution (Daily):
    • Determine, track, and confirm the Material Available Dates and ensure that they meet the Scheduled Dates for the Tasks.
    • Use the Resource Status Reports information to ensure that the Resources and Materials will be available on time at the correct Workplace.
    • Update the RSR Statuses and Dates according to current status.
  • Collect all the materials:
    • Collect each Task before the scheduled date and ensure they meet the required specifications.
    • Escalate in time when the delivery would not meet the Scheduled Date.
    • Arrange to expedite the delayed materials and arrange for alternative supply sources when appropriate.
    • Inform the Scheduler to add it to the Issue List, which needs to be discussed during the Draft Schedule Review Meeting for action.
    • Place items collected in task packages.
    • Change task status to ready to Execute.
    • Specify the movement of resources in the Workplace.
    • Arrange logistics: request help if transport and any other assistance are needed to deliver the items to the workplace.

  • Plan, resource and manage delivery of Anglo American/ De Beers Group Global IM and business IM assigned audits projects as well as Group Wide audits in a way that acts as a catalyst for change and improvement. Qualifications:

Formal qualifications:

  • Honours Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Mining, Nautical Architecture or any equivalent
  • Master’s in Engineering or MBA would be advantageous

Additional requirements:

  • Proven track record and ability to successfully engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience at senior management level 5-7yrs
  • Experience in innovation and technology development +10yrs

Role specific knowledge:

  • Experience in simulation/CAE/CAD including expert use of MS Excel for simulation and modelling where appropriate.
  • Experience in assimilating knowledge gained into appropriate formats and databases, and dissemination of technology through technical reports and presentations

Job Description:

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform daily planning of activities and tasks to ensure timeous completion of tasks ahead of deadlines.
  • Conduct pre-placement and transfer medicals in accordance to medical examination protocols.
  • Provide a baseline health status and determining fitness for duty.
  • Conduct periodic health screening to detect early signs of target organ damage related to specific health hazard exposure.
  • Identify and ensure early and prompt intervention measures to affected employees and referrals to appropriate functionaries.
  • Report and assist on all injuries on duty and occupational diseases.
  • Conduct exit medicals to detect and exclude possible occupational diseases related to occupational exposure.
  • Follow organisational standards and procedures for medical surveillance process.
  • Assess the ability to work and the health status of an employee/client.
  • Present recommendations to line manager.
  • Ensure medical records are recorded and signed.
  • Assess, monitor and provide support to patients with medical problems impacting on work ability.
  • Provide input into incident investigations.
  • Ensure medical records are recorded and signed.
  • Assess, monitor and provide support to patients with medical problems impacting on work ability.
  • Manage the Occupational Health Centre
  • Order equipment and medical supplies for the OHC
  • Allocate bookings on medical booking system
  • Human resource allocation
  • Manage discipline within department
  • HR administration such as leave forms, exception reports
  • Participate in internal and external audits

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing
  • B.Tech Occupational Health Nursing Registered with South African Nursing Council
  • Dispensing licence (where applicable to operation)
  • Health Services Management certificate or equivalent – Beneficial
  • Certificate in Audiometry, Spirometry, Vision and VCT
  • Driver’s License

Experience

  • Atleast 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Prior experience in a mining environment will be an advantage

Knowledge and Skills

  • Operations:
    • Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
  • Management:
    • Risk management techniques and critical controls
  • Compliance:
    • Safety, health and environment, legislative, statutory, regulatory and permitting requirements
    • Knowledge of relevant mining & labour legislation
