Matzikama Municipality is situated in the West Coast of the Western Cape Province and
serves the following towns: Vredendal, Vanrhynsdorp, Klawer, Lutzville, Koekenaap,
Doringbaai, Strandfontein, Ebenhaeser, Papendorp, Bitterfontein, Nuwerus, Kliprand,
Stofkraal, Molsvlei, Putsekloof and Rietpoort.

DIRECTORATE: FINANCIAL SERVICES

MUNICIPAL FINANCIAL INTERSHIP: TWO YEAR CONTRACT POST
VREDENDAL

The Municipal Financial Management Internship Program is a structured, professional
training and work experience program with the aim of providing high quality training and
practical exposure in key areas of the Finance Directorate and ensuring that the necessary
skills are learned

Key performance areas: Performs programme-driven tasks with regard to municipal
financial management with revenue, expenditure, financial control, asset and budget control,
and supply chain management as focus areas.

Minimum job requirements: Candidates must be in the possession of a three-year
Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma with major subjects that include Accounting,
Economics, Finance, Risk Management and/or Auditing ∙ Computer skills ∙ Good
communication skills in at least 2 official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans and
English or isiXhosa) ∙ Valid Code B Driver’s License

Salary : R11 079.40 per month

OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE MAYOR

PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR – VREDENDAL

Key performance areas: To coordinate, plan and facilitate mayoral special / outreach
programs • Execute specific procedures with respect to the rendering of strategic support to
the office of the political office bearers and councilors • Manage and coordinate special
programs at local level • Managing and monitoring policies, procedures and implementation
of Youth/Gender/Disabilities/Elderly, HIV/AIDS and ECD programs • Responsible for the
financial administration of special programs • Coordinate procedural requirements pertaining
to political office outreach programs and initiatives • Attends to the administrative recording,
reporting and recordkeeping requirements / procedures • Performs public and client service
functions • Performs other related duties as instructed by supervisor

Minimum requirements: Grade 12 ∙ 4 years relevant experience • Valid code B driver’s
license • Computer Literacy: MS Office • Proficiency in at least 2 official languages of the
Western Cape (Afrikaans and English or Xhosa) • Good human relations, interpersonal and
communication skills • Ability to deal with conflict situations • Ability to maintain
confidentiality • Facilitation- public speaking- and presentation skills

Salary: R17 500.00 per month
