Minimum Requirements
Grade 12/Matric
N2 with Mechanical Trade Theory will be advantageous
An aptitude for Mathematics and Computer technology will be advantageous
Be in possesion of a valid Code 08 driver’s licence
3 Years in the Engineering environment – Specific experience in a Mechanical Environment will be advantageous
Must be able to communicate well at all levels
Strong motivational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently
Willing to work overtime


Duties and Responsibilities
Assist artisans to perform pre-start and running inspections on plant equipment
Maintain good housekeeping in the work area (plant and workshop areas)
Assist artisans during maintenance of equipment
Assist the maintenance team to achieve high level of availability of machinery and equipment in the plant
Ensure that tools are always clean and in good condition, and at their right places after use
Assist artisans to inspect/test all safety and equipment protection systems for functionality and operability at predetermined intervals
Assist artisans to identify defective components and/or equipment
Assist artisans to maintain all safety and equipment protection systems to required standards
Assist artisans to install, maintain and repair all plant equipment and their associated components to the relevant engineering standards, and in line with appropriate legislation
Provide feedback to the relevant stakeholders (e.g. artisan, EF, EP, etc.)
Perform HIRA on all tasks
Uphold standards relating to safety, health and environment
To complete all job cards issued by the EP
Comply with all safety, health and environment measures and provisions
Demonstrate competence in maintenance of workshop tools and equipment
Carry out repairs effectively and timeously
Perform all required inspections
Assist artisans in performance of maintenance work
