Job Description

The Key Purpose of this role is evaluating, developing, implementing, and enhancing internal control processes and procedures within the organization.

Assessing existing systems, identify weaknesses or risks, propose improvements, and work closely with various departments to enhance compliance and

operational efficiency.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Risk Mitigation and Compliance:

  • Leveraging data, identify risks and develop recommendations to mitigate identified risks by proposing and implementing effective internal control
  • measures and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, company Control Frameworks, Delegation of Authority, and Policies through
  • continuous monitoring and evaluation.

Controls Assessment and Process improvement:

  • Conduct assessments of existing internal control systems and processes to identify weaknesses, risks, and compliance gaps.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (within and outside the Africa Zone) to identify opportunities for enhancing processes and controls to
  • optimize operational efficiency.
  • Implement improvements based on data analysis, risk assessment, and compliance objectives to enhance the effectiveness of internal controls.

Testing and Validation:

  • Design and execute testing procedures to validate the effectiveness of internal control measures and ensure they are operating as intended.
  • Document testing results and recommend corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
  • Keep operational management and Internal Controls Lead appraised on the progress and any concerns to ensure delays are minimised and timelines
  • are met.
  • Communicate testing results, risk identified and quantification of risks timeously to process owners.
  • Partner with operations to track, monitor and remediate process gaps.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of internal control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate and present periodic reports to management and stakeholders regarding the status of internal controls, risk assessment findings, and
  • recommended actions.

Advisory and Consultation:

  • Develop and conduct training programs for operations to increase awareness and understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements and the
  • combined assurance approach.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments to ensure compliance with Control Frameworks, Delegation of Authority, and Policies .
  • Serve as an internal advisor to management and departments on matters related to internal controls, compliance, and risk management.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance on best practices and industry standards to enhance internal control effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with GRM and external auditors to optimise improvement opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or similar are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in internal controls, auditing, risk management, or compliance (typically 3+ years) is preferred.
  • Data Analytics (non-negotiable)
  • Previous experience in Sarbanes Oxley (SOx).
  • Proficient in using software and tools (SAP, PowerBi, SQL) for data analysis and documentation.
  • Exposure to Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector preferred in the areas of manufacturing, distribution and finance would be advantageous.

The Key Purpose of this role is to oversee the daily operations of the cybersecurity team, ensuring the implementation of effective security measures and managing incident response activities. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in IT security management, capable of fostering collaboration across departments and ensuring compliance with the internal IT Controls Framework and regulatory requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

  • Manage 24/7 cybersecurity operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Our globally centralized SOC requires strong teamwork and leadership skills for a unified response to cyber threats.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard information and assets.

Incident Management

  • Lead incident response efforts, coordinating with zone and global teams and external partners to detect, contain, eradicate, and recover from cybersecurity incidents.
  • Ensure incidents are handled according to best practices and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise a team of cybersecurity analysts and engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Strategic Planning

  • Execute the comprehensive global cybersecurity strategy aligned with zone business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., POPIA, ISO 27001).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Execute regular global routines for data protection, privacy, third-party risk management, and vulnerability management.

Communication

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the cybersecurity team and other departments, ensuring effective communication regarding security issues.
  • Prepare reports for senior management on security metrics, incidents, and ongoing cybersecurity projects.

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO) and compliance requirements.
  • Technical proficiency in security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.Proven experience leading security operations.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM (preferred) or CC (minimum requirement).
  • Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies.
  • Familiarity with securing on-premises servers and cloud technology. Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.

The key purpose of this job is to develop and deliver enhanced barley varieties, for the local and international brewing industry, which are aligned to brewing industry’s quality requirements.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Support the pre-breeding program (speed breeding, disease resistance, marker assisted selection) and the malting barley breeding program in order to optimally develop and release new barley varieties that are acceptable to the brewing industry and superior to the existing commercial varieties, in terms of both agronomics and malting & brewing quality by:

  • Remaining up to date with new developments in international breeding protocols;
  • Understanding the stakeholders (producers, maltster and brewers) requirements
  • Ensures timeous production, malting and brewing evaluation and feedback on new varieties

Support the selection of the germplasm bank to ensure that superior new lines are available for crossings through the following actions:

  • Maintaining contact with breeding programs worldwide, in order to obtain as wide a range of germplasm as possible;
  • Importing germplasm and evaluating it in the field;
  • Maintaining contact with the industry, in order to stay up to date with changes in the agronomy, disease resistance, production practices, pest control and the malt and brewing industry;
  • Evaluating research projects; analyze data, compile reports and communicate results
  • Developing an evaluation strategy for introductions
  • Direct pre-breeding program with a focus on quality
  • Maintain germplasm

Support the only South African based barley re-combination crossing program from existing or new lines, by:

  • Identify lines and introductions with the required characteristics for use as parents in the recombination program;
  • Collecting the identified varieties and lines from the respective nurseries, locally and abroad;
  • Planning the re-combinations according to the long term strategy;
  • Emasculating and pollinating plants according to planning; and
  • Planning the F1 combinations for and execute the doubled haploid program
  • Planning the F1 combinations for and execute the disease breeding program

Support the planting and selection of the material in all the filial generations from the re-combination crossings to ensure pure breeding progenies according to long term strategy for each specific cross by:

  • Evaluating the material and selecting and marking single plants from generation 2 to 4 and single rows in generation 5;
  • Selecting material from germplasm to line evaluation throughout the lifespan of the breeding program to release new varieties

Support the selection of the lines in the trial evaluation program to ensure that superior new varieties are available for experimental release through the following actions:

  • Evaluating the material, validate, analyze data, select superior lines and compile reports from elite 1 to line evaluation trials,
  • Communicating/discussing trial and commercial results with the barley industry

Support the planning and execution of a ‘phasing in’ strategy for all the new barley varieties and negotiate the removal of old varieties from the industry, (Stage Gate Process):

  • Planning the seed production of all the experimental varieties (post breeding process;
  • Promoting cultivation of new varieties

Provides technical support to the industry;

  • Establishing and maintaining a sound knowledge of the barley industry;
  • Planning, designing and managing research projects directed at solving identified problems in the industry;
  • Planning, designing and managing research projects directed at the optimization of cultivation practices for the newly released varieties;
  • Analyze data, preparing required reports, literature searches, scientific manuscripts, presentations and progress reports in order to communicate the results to barley producers and agricultural advisors of relevant organizations and/or farmer groups

Support preparation and implementation of the budget for the barley development program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum a BSc Degree
  • 2 years hands on small grain breeding experience will be an advantage
  • Experience with Hordeum vulgare pathogens will be an advantage
  • Statistical Analysis programme (Agrobase, R, Genstat etc) knowledge will be an advantage

The Key Purpose of this role is to review, analyse and improve systems including support to problem solve and issues where Tech infrastructure integrates with application systems. The incumbent will consult with users, peers and stakeholders to identify current operating procedures and recommend improvements, Their primary responsibility will be to ensure that the necessary foundation is in place to enable the seamless end-to-end support of services. Additionally, will also be responsible for writing documentation to describe custom configuration of applications and operating procedures to liaison with 3rd party consultants. The role is responsible for ensuring that all IT applications, processes, tools, etc. are appropriate for the agreed availability and capacity targets. You must have a working knowledge of relational databases, web and client-server concepts, and be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish KPIs and Targets.

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in managing support and new initiatives to enhance our existing Microsoft based systems.
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
  • Coordinate application development for multiple projects if required.
