Analyst: AML Investigations Business Bank

Location: Sandton, GT, ZA

Purpose Statement

• To execute daily operational activities within the Business Bank AML Operations environment, including enhanced due diligence, investigation of suspicious transactions, name and payment screening, reporting, and quality assurance, thereby implementing and administrating legal and statutory requirements for the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001 (“FICA”), Protection of Constitutional Democracy Against Terrorist and Related Activities Act 33 of 2004 (“POCDATARA”), Prevention of Organised Crime Act 121 of 1998 and all related legislation, within Capitec Bank

Experience

Minimum:

• At least 2-3 year’s investigative experience within a business banking environment within an AML environment
• Experience with collating and analysing information and making decisions based on the information.
• Interpretation and application of regulatory requirements.
  

Ideal:

• FICA exposure within a business banking environment
• Experience in a financial or legal institution or investigative environment

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk and Compliance

Knowledge

Minimum:

• Legislation regarding money laundering control, proliferation finance and combating of terrorist financing
• Understanding of money laundering means and mechanisms on a global scale

• Client due diligence and AML environment.
• Understanding the Risk Management and Compliance Programme and the purpose it serves in AML
• Business acumen
• Know Your Customer (KYC), risk based approach
• Investigation methodology and techniques

Ideal:

• Client due diligence and investigations on juristic and non-juristic clients.

Main Purpose

To manage the Internal Audit function for Technology and Data Services, to ensure it adds value to the organisation (group of companies) and its stakeholders by providing objective and relevant assurance and by contributing to the effectiveness of the governance and control processes.

This individual will report to the Head: internal audit and be responsible for leading which will require strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, including cloud technologies such as AWS, and problem-solving capabilities.

As Manager: Technology and Data Services your primary responsibilities will include:

• Management and leadership of the Technology and Data Services Internal Audit function
• Operational management of the Technology and Data Services Internal Audit function.
• People/ Team Management
• Stakeholder and relationship management

Required qualifications:

• Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology – Computer Science or Information Technology – IT Engineering

The ideal candidate will have:

• Honours Degree: Information Technology – Computer Science OR Information Technology IT Engineering
• At least 10 years as an Internal Auditor (information technology)
• At least 5 years’ managerial experience in an audit environment, managing a team of 5 or more.
• Experience in project planning and management
• Applying business acumen and commercial understanding, specifically in terms of digital channels.
• Cloud based platform certifications and experience

Purpose Statement

To contribute towards the management of model risk in the bank by conducting technical reviews and validations of all models in the bank and further drive improved governance of models in the bank, with specific focus on either 

• models that use machine learning methodologies , or
• financial models, or
• predictive models (credit risk scorecards).

Experience

Min: 

• 2+ years’ relevant modelling experience.

• Experience in a variety of  model methodologies, either related to:
• machine learning methodologies
• financial modelling (pricing, provisioning, capital)
• predictive modelling (credit risk scorecards)
• Practical experience in end-to-end model development is a requirement.

Ideal:

• 3+ years relevant experience in a banking environment.
• Model review and validation experience.
• Ability to understand complex modelling techniques, discuss and challenge modelling approaches, and to effectively communicate technical concepts and alternative solutions.

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
• Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar

Qualifications (Ideal)

About the role:

As an Audit Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that internal audits add significant value to our organisation. Your responsibilities will include conducting internal audits, ensuring compliance with the Internal Audit Charter and International Internal Audit Standards, and providing subject matter expertise and technical guidance. You will also be instrumental in identifying risks, recommending controls, and leveraging technology to optimise the performance of the internal audit function 

What you will bring:

• A relevant degree in Commerce or Auditing (CA(SA), CIA, CISA)
• At least 5 years as an Auditor (within insurance)
• Experience in project planning and management
• At least 2 years’ managerial experience in managing a team of 2 or more

Ideally you also have:

• A further qualification as: CIA, CISA, CA(SA), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) / Control Self-Assessments(CCSA) / Data Management (CDM)
• Practical experience in data analytics
• Practical experience using COSO framework
• Practical experience of Basel 3

Senior Internal Auditor

Location: Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA

Purpose Statement

• To assist the Informatics Assurance function within Internal Audit to ensure it adds value to the organisation (group of companies) and its stakeholders by providing objective and relevant assurance and by contributing to the effectiveness of the data governance, management and control processes.
• Using the internally developed Data Management Assurance Framework (DMAF), review implemented data management capabilities (in Standalone reviews or Integrated reviews) across the Business Bank, Retail Bank, Shared Services and Insurance business units.

Experience

Min:

• Minimum of 3 years as an Internal Auditor (IT) and performing the full spectrum of IT audits
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in developing data analytics and/or implementing data management activities.

• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) – preferred
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) – ideal
• Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) – ideal

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Capitec is pivotal in shaping and executing the bank’s AI strategy. By collaborating with Data Scientists and Decision Scientists, you’ll enhance their efficiency through the development, implementation, and support of platform improvements. Your contributions will be crucial in positioning Capitec to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving landscape where AI technologies are key strategic differentiators.

This role leverages your deep understanding of machine learning models, from concept to deployment, and expertise in modern software development best practices, big data processing frameworks, and cloud environments whilst sitting in the risk division of the business. You’ll also be working extensively with Python, SQL, and advanced debugging techniques to ensure the delivery of scalable, robust, and production-ready predictive models

Our ideal candidate has:

• 3+ years of experience in any engineering role
• Honors degree or higher in any field
• Python and SQL experience
• PySpark
• Big data frameworks – Hadoop/Kafka
• Github experience or Git
