REQUIREMENTS : An NQF level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent). At least five (5) years’
experience driving heavy duty vehicles. Knowledge of physical inspection of
vehicles and interpret instructions for proper use of all controls for safe
operation of vehicles. Good people skills. Ability to read/write. Ability to
interpret and follow operating manuals, maintenance manuals and service
charts. A valid driver’s license (Code EC/14 with PDP).


DUTIES : Drive Heavy duty vehicles. Transportation of work teams and
material/equipment. Detect and repair minor mechanical problems on the
vehicles and take steps to have it repaired (check level and condition of oil,
fuel, tyres and water). Inspection of the vehicles/equipment and report defects.
Complete vehicle logbook, trip authorization for the vehicle. Transport
employees in the office and guests. Assist in rendering messenger services in
the department. Transport of goods/mail to the correct destination.
