Information and Technology Services Department
The Information and Technology Services Department invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
Main Objectives
Ensuring that all lecture venue equipment is working and replaced as and when necessary. To respond to users’ needs and to provision technical support to the lecture venues to ensure continuity and support the Teaching and Learning project of the University, and to ensure that the Venues are fit for purpose on a daily basis.

Economics and Economic History
The Department of Economics and Economic History at Rhodes University is a vibrant and diverse academic unit offering undergraduate to doctoral programmes, including a specialised Master of Commerce in Financial Markets. With a strong emphasis on student centred teaching and learning, the department integrates rigorous teaching with research excellence across areas such as financial markets, international trade, development, environmental and natural resource economics, and the creative economy. Its research groups—focusing on Money, Banking and Financial Markets; Development, Institutions and Labour Markets; and Environmental and Natural Resource Economics—investigate pressing economic and social challenges, particularly within the Eastern Cape and broader African context. The department also incorporates strong community engagement and service-learning components in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Main Objectives
All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research), and community engagement, recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels.
The Requirements
At least a Ph.D. in Economics or equivalent, or, in exceptional circumstances, a Masters’ degree in Economics, or equivalent with completion of a Ph.D in view (final draft completed).
