Matzikama Municipality is situated in the West Coast of the Western Cape Province and serves
the following towns: Vredendal, Vanrhynsdorp, Klawer, Lutzville, Koekenaap, Doringbaai,
Strandfontein, Ebenhaeser, Papendorp, Bitterfontein, Nuwerus, Kliprand, Stofkraal, Molsvlei,
Putsekloof and Rietpoort.
Competent and experienced persons who meet the minimum requirements are invited to
apply for the following vacancies:
DIRECTORATE: FINANCIAL SERVICES
The Municipal Financial Management Internship Program is a structured, professional training
and work experience program with the aim of providing high quality training and practical
exposure in key areas of the Finance Directorate and ensuring that the necessary skills are
learned.
Key performance areas: Performs programme driven tasks with regards to municipal
financial management with revenue, expenditure, financial control, asset and budget control
and supply chain management as focus areas.
Minimum job requirements: Candidates must be in the possession of a three-year Bachelor’s
degree or National Diploma with major subjects that include Accounting, Economics, Finance,
Risk Management and/or Auditing ∙ Computer skills ∙ Good communication skills in at least 2
official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans and English or isiXhosa) ∙ Valid Code B
Driver’s License
Stipend: R8 334.00 per month
