PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The S/4HANA Senior Finance Consultant will act as trusted partner to our customers on their journey to the cloud, from scoping and planning of the initial deployment to continuous value engineering. The Senior consultant role requires deep understanding of the cloud business model, the ERP processes across functional borders, as well as a service-oriented attitude with the aim to achieve customer delight.

EXPECTATION AND TASKS

As SAP Premium Hub Center of Expertise (CoE) consultant, you will support EMEA customers on their SAP S/4HANA adoption projects; as well as live customers that need to optimize business process, monitor operations, upgrade existing systems, etc., through the support from SAP Premium Engagement services.

The CoE Senior S/4HANA Finance Consultant must be able to accompany customers executing S/4HANA implementation projects with SAP Partners, or SAP led. The Consultant will provide guidance and support across all SAP Activate phases to ensure a successful S/4HANA implementation project

Your role involves delivery of technical and application services within customer engagements. You need excellent SAP Finance Software skills, and you are a decent problem solver with the ability to communicate effectively in an international environment. According to your experience, strengths and customer needs, you will conduct some of the following tasks:

  • Prepare, design, realize and support Go-Lives for customer implementation projects
  • Support feasibility studies and process design reviews
  • Detailed planning of process implementation
  • Detailed blueprinting for development requirements
  • Develop and Assure quality of process models
  • Demonstrate profound knowledge of modeling standards and tools
  • Support the development of overall project plans (scoping process) as well as individual work plans; acting as liaison with client for troubleshooting (investigates, analyses, and solves software problems)
  • Analyze and map clients’ business requirements, processes and objectives; develop necessary product modifications to satisfy clients’ needs.
  • Support the Services Organization with implementation projects, pre-sales support (estimating), spot consulting and internal projects and commit to the success of customers, partners, colleagues, and SAP
  • Live and breath the cloud business model and the subsequent implications in regard to the implementation & post-implementation service business
  • Ensure customer success, satisfaction, and reference ability for S/4HANA Cloud customer
  • Articulate the S/4HANA Cloud business capabilities and value, differentiate S/4HANA Cloud and On-Premise solutions
  • Follow the methodology, tools, and processes to ensure successful customer adoption
  • Deliver agile services in a fast-changing environment
  • Support the industrialization of the implementation process
  • Understand and practice value-based “fit to standard” delivery approach
  • Position and Deliver transition roadmaps between on-prem and Cloud solutions
  • Drive the adoption of the value based innovation roadmap and guide the customer in their journey
  • Know and build business process according to Industry Best Practices, empowering a standard mindset to live in
  • Collaboration with internal/external consultants as part of the platform growth and solution providing
  • Drive and deliver customer conversations with focus on BUSINESS OUTCOMES
  • In the Discover and Prepare phases, the consultant must demonstrate business benefits to adopt S/4HANA, provide recommendations about best transition path and support customers on architecture definitions.
  • Propose recommendations to optimize business processes in Deploy phase, from a technical and functional perspectives.
  • Support customer to address issues reported during Run and operation phases.
  • Support business processes continuous improvement once customer is operating S/4HANA.

MANDATORY SKILLS

In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance  or related discipline, and a minimum of 10+  years’ progressive experience, the successful candidate will possess:

  • Good Communication skills
  • Delivery experience in agile methodology (e.g. SAP Activate)
  • Experience in Change and Value Management and Realization
  • Consulting delivery skills (hands-on & project management)
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.
  • Acts as a Senior Trusted Advisor to the customer’s Finance department, covering the entire company of a big/complex, multinational Finance Processes end-to-end
  • Certifications in S/4HANA Finance or S/4HANA Architecture are a must
  • Defines Finance Strategies, Governance and Finance Process Architecture based on state-of-the art of S4HANA Cloud – On premise Finance technology
  • Defines the strategic, conceptual, and technical boundaries for the design of the SAP S4HANA Finance processes, supporting the accounting principles and localizations solutions required by the customer. Can address the organization as well as the procedures of customers’ Finance departments with a focus on high efficiency, stability and performance.
  • Cross industry experience
  • Strong writing, mentoring, decision making, communication, and meeting facilitation skills; ability to utilize a combination of formal authority and persuasion skill sets.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication with senior executive management, clients, peers and team members.
  • Professional Experience
    – 10+ years of professional experience; demonstrated knowledge / expertise of at least one industry / solution segment, preferable S4HANA Finance experience
  • Expected Travel: 0% – 70%

PREFERABLE SKILLS

  • PMP or SAP Activate Certification will be preferred.
  • Relevant Finance and Accounting Certifications
  • Communication in German Language is plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud, Hosted Services, and SaaS/ PaaS models, RISE are plus.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the DMLT (Data Management and Landscape Transformation) workstream within complex SAP transformation projects — ensuring scope, timeline, quality, and budget are achieved
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all DMLT topics and orchestrating collaboration across Solution Architects, Delivery@Scale teams, and global stakeholders
  • Defining and tracking project activities, deliverables, and resource needs across the full lifecycle

  • Driving stakeholder communication and alignment between SAP, customer, and partner teams

What you bring

  • 3–7 years of experience in SAP consulting, or delivery of data migration and transformation projects
  • Solid understanding of SAP system landscapes, data migration approaches, and transformation methodologies (ideally within S/4HANA transition programs)
  • Proven experience in leading project workstreams or full projects, preferably in multi-country or large-scale SAP transformation initiatives

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Orchestrating end-to-end presales and solutioning for SAP RISE and cloud ERP transformations
  • Leading technical bid management, solution demonstrations, and presentations of SAP RISE/BDC/AI capabilities
  • Managing assigned opportunities from start to finish and actively driving presales cycles in partnership with sales and subject matter experts
  • Collaborating with customers to assess transformation requirements and define project scope
  • Leading technical assessment workshops and defining solution approaches for data migration and transformation projects
  • Driving adoption of DMLT automation topics within customer projects
  • Supporting development of project plans, RACI matrices, and Statements of Work (SOWs)

What you bring

  • 10+ years of SAP services sales or presales experience
  • 5+ years in bid approval and bid management processes
  • Strong understanding of M&A, divestiture, and data transformation project execution
  • Basic knowledge of SAP FI, CO, MM, and SD, with ability to articulate process flows and service impacts
  • Deep functional expertise in at least one area: Finance, Logistics, BW, BDC, or Data Integration
  • Experience in SAP S/4HANA data migration and transition scenarios
  • SAP project management experience, including creating draft project plans and SOWs

THE ROLE
The Client Delivery Manager (CDM) serves as primary point of contact for SAP Cloud Customers of Enterprise Cloud Services, mainly focusing on HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC), S/4HANA private cloud edition, S/4HANA Cloud extended Edition, HANA Enterprise Cloud advanced Edition. The CDM drives end-to-end customer engagement from signature onwards, particularly customer onboarding, continuous service delivery, release and maintenance project initiation, architecture and governance coaching, relationship management, and renewal initiation. The CDM is expected to maintain customer satisfaction through issue mitigation and escalation management, to build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, and help customers maximize the value of their partnership with SAP. 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic engagement with your client to establish client focus on the core of the services delivered. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate accountability as the single orchestrator for End2End delivery. Enforce a culture of performance & collaboration through delivery engagement and Internal Stakeholder Management.
  • Proactive account cost management. Understanding customer business needs to find innovative solutions adapted to client’s level of maturity, Safeguarding ECS Revenue, contract renewals.
  • Accountable for entire SAP ECS engagement across all lifecycle phases, lead the engagement with supporting ECS functions and roles to deliver as per contract scope and in line with customer expectations.
  • Act as an (de-)escalation point for delivery-related topics (Incidents, Service Requests and other customer requirements).
  • Support the positioning of additional ECS offerings and support contract renewal in alignment with SAP sales teams.
  • Proactive management of Operational security risk by ensuring maintenance activities are addressed promptly, making customers aware of compliance reports and closure of risk letters.
  • Create a culture of pro-active problem management, continually improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services delivered to customer.
  • Collaborate with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services delivery units to establish long-term service plans and account visions.

Education, Skills, and Competencies

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalents in Business Administration, Computer Science, Technical Engineering, Economics, or related fields.
  • Good understanding of SAP Basis, system migration and/or functional SAP application knowledge.
  • Understanding of SAP’s cloud business, cloud and hybrid infrastructure and cloud operation processes.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in Portuguese  and English, ability to switch communication styles for technical and non-technical audiences with confidence, including management level at customers.
  • High competency in multi-tasking and ability to manage multiple engagements in parallel.
  • Pro-active, problem-solving, “can-do” attitude and “customer first” mindset.
  • Accustomed to working in an international and global virtual matrix organization.
  • Strong engagement management, relationship building and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent customer focus experience and thorough with networking and relationship building results-driven leader.

Preferred skills

  • Certification on SAP Basis/Application, Project Management or Hyper scalers (Azure/AWS/GCP) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge and certifications in standards and methodologies for SAP IT operations (e.g. SAP CoE, ITIL V4 Foundation or Expert Level, Run SAP standards, Solution Manager ALM) are beneficial.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese  is mandatory.

Work Experience

  • Total 10+ years’ experience in SAP project management or SAP Operations or IT industry experience in SAP technology.
  • 6+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role in the cloud or IT consulting business.
  • 6+ years’ experience in SAP Basis and/or infrastructure operation/development is preferred.
