Project Control Specialist
Job Description
PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Project Control Specialist provides financial control of active projects through Cost Estimating, Cost Engineering/Control, Basic Planning & Scheduling, Contract Administration, reporting and Economic Analysis. The role further provides support to the project functions through measurement, verification and certification of materials, labour and other cost components related to designs and drawings as applicable on tenders and projects.
The primary focus is on providing contractual administration in terms of Change Control, financial management and cost control support to Project Managers, and reporting on project financial data.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Contractual Administration & Financial Management Cost and Revenue Control
- Support the Project Management team with the control of cost aspects of contracts
- Budget control, Cash Flow, Estimations, and Reporting.
- Guide and support Quantity Surveyors and Junior Quantity Surveyors as required.
- Manage subcontract determinations, re-measurable determinations, assessments, and variation generations.
- Perform budget control, estimating, latest cost forecasting, cash flow management, and forecasted rate of invoicing.
- Prepare final accounts for completed subcontracts and clients.
Following Departmental and Company Processes
- Liaise effectively with all Lesedi support departments (Industrial Projects, Finance).
- Assist in developing standardised documentation and templates for project execution.
- Interface with Finance for invoice generation and resolving contractor payment queries.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures and controls.
- Participate in process improvements and align to industry norms and standards.
Supporting and Executing Company Strategies
- Support proposal generation and tender preparation as required.
- Provide leads to Project Development when available.

QUALIFICATION
Bachelor’s Degree in:

Job Description
PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Projects Department within the Oil, Gas & Power Division based in Cape Town. This pivotal role is responsible for the successful execution of FEED, EP, EPC, EPCm and Project Financed projects. Working closely with the Managing Executive, you will evaluate, define and manage execution methodologies and project strategies to achieve our division’s strategic objectives. You will engage with clients both technically and commercially to understand their needs and develop effective solutions, while supporting project execution teams to deliver excellence.

- Lead and manage the Projects Department ensuring delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget

PURPOSE OF ROLE
Produce quality technical outputs which satisfy all requirements (Clients, Codes and Standards) by adhering to internal engineering processes. The position is a senior technical role requiring leadership qualities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- LV and MV Systems Engineering (conceptual & detail design and development of electrical systems and networks)
- Design, specification, and execution of electrical systems for industrial plants
- Design of LV & MV Motor Control Centres
- Design of LV & MV industrial plant reticulation systems
- Design of DC plant and battery systems
- Design of renewable energy systems
- Design of protection systems
- Specification of Electrical Switchgear and Motor Protection Equipment

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
- Minimum 10 years relevant multi-disciplinary project design experience, especially in the Power Generation Industry.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience designing PV Systems.
- Working knowledge of OHS Act and the Regulations.
- Working knowledge of the Environmental Legislation.
- Working knowledge of SANS & IEC codes, Safety Management Standards and ISO 9001.
- Knowledge and experience with the South African Grid Code.
