Programme Coordinator: Initial Teacher Intern Training

Waterberg District: Limpopo Province (Fixed Term)

We invite applications from motivated individuals with strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for education who are eager to make a meaningful impact in the Waterberg District, with the role commencing on 01 April 2026. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Academy’s mission of advancing quality education in Foundation Phase, Mathematics and Sciences.

The primary responsibility of the coordinator will be to work with about 30 teacher interns, mentors, school managers, and the Waterberg District DBE to ensure effective programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, and smooth execution of teaching and learning initiatives.

The requirements for this challenging position include:

Minimum 3 years’ experience preferably in the education field with a suitable professional qualification
Previous involvement in schools or educational community engagement programmes
Experience in educational leadership, assessment and moderation, monitoring and evaluation
A sound and progressive understanding of the South African education context
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing
Exceptional planning and organising skills with attention to detail regarding day-to-day operational running of the programme
Passion for the development of the teaching profession
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders within the Waterberg District
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work independently
Experience in project management
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours including Saturdays
A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Implementation and monitoring of the Initial Teacher Intern Training Programme within the Waterberg District
Regular liaison with the relevant staff and schools to ensure effective implementation of the programmes
Assist Thandulwazi in overseeing the organic growth of the programme.
Overseeing the professional aspects of the programme: ensuring that the standards of academic excellence and training are upheld
Working with Thandulwazi to ensure accurate reporting and monitoring of the programme
Willingness to gain knowledge in new educational programmes and applications for possible implication to enhance the programme (open to learn new skills, growing and developing the programme)
Monitoring and evaluation including visits to community partner schools
