The Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator operates within the Corporate Affairs Cluster of SANRAL; in the Stakeholder Relations Management Unit, with a key focus on supporting the Province’s Road infrastructure delivery programme. The role has a primary function of developing and implementing integrated internal and external engagement programs, in accordance with the Agency’s priorities to effectively position and manage the Provincial outreach and Stakeholder Relations function.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A NQF 7 qualification in stakeholder relations or an associated discipline.
A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in a stakeholder engagement role.
A minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience providing stakeholder relations advice and services.
Experience in leading project and/or specialist function activities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to write collateral tailored for different audiences.
Proven ability to liaise effectively and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately.
An understanding of the cultural dynamics of relevant Province and the protocols associated with traditional leadership in the area.
Relevant experience gained in major organization’s, government, projects and or consultancy.
Demonstrated ability in dealing with conflict or avoiding potential conflicts.
Demonstrate high quality discipline to taking organisation’s instructions, and adherence to set rules and internal protocols.

Ability to leverage multiple stakeholder relationships and build coalitions that foster project success.
Ability to initiate and build internal relations with colleagues for the successful execution of SANRAL business.
Ability to maintain strong relationships with a range of external stakeholders including, local government, provincial governments, traditional leadership, other state-owned entities, members of the community, civil society groups, and the private sector to ensure the successful implementation of strategic stakeholder relations and outreach programmes.
Ability to think creatively, to work under pressure and recognise and respond to sensitive issues.
Ability to engage others and gain support and confidence of senior management and key stakeholders; and
Ability to put in place, working within the context of a team, information systems that meet the information requirements of all stakeholders.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator needs to work effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading and managing the coordination of consultation activities including community information sessions.
Demonstrate the ability to listen attentively and provide clear researched and policy-aligned responses to audiences.
Providing regular reports on stakeholder relations and community consultation activities and giving advice on emerging consultation issues.
Providing detailed risks and suggested mitigations to build mutual and sound relationships.
Providing project administration support to ensure good documentation of stakeholder contact to assist with project reporting.
Develop a deep understanding of SANRAL’s projects in the province to deliver internal and external stakeholder activities that align with overarching business strategies.
Deliver high quality engagement material which demonstrates excellent oral and writing skills, clarity of message and engagement with audiences.
Provide content for key internal & external communications channels.
