Supervisor Cashier: Fare Collection-IRPTN – TRFL19585

Minimum Requirements:

  • N6 in Financial Management/ Financial Accounting
  • Diploma in Financial Management/ Business Management / Public Admin or Cost Management Accounting will serve as an advantage
  • 1 year experience in a similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide the station with efficient customer service and address customer complaints correctly and timeously
  • Perform a financial administrative function and ensure proper financial control is maintained
  • Provide accurate shift report, manage and report on shorts and overs.
  • Manage and control ticket movements and archive all relevant documentation for record and audit purpose.
  • Assist with station communication by arranging monthly meetings and provide minutes to the Operations manager
  • Oversee station infrastructure, conducting daily site inspection and report to control on the infrastructure state of the station
  • Attend to personnel management aspects of the station, completing employee attendance register and indicate personnel timelines

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom Accounting/ Financial Management
  • 5 years’ experience in budget, accounting, forecasting and resource allocation in a large, devolved organisation, preferably within the local government sector

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the BRT revenue division
  • Manage the different functions of the division and provide uniform goal and objective
  • Contribute to the development of the governance strategy and the risk management plan
  • Plan, organise and co-ordinate the workflow and manage activities of the revenue division
  • Oversee administrative management of the management accounting unit to ensure all administrative processes are executed within time, cost and quality standards
  • Manage and delegate tasks to subordinates in accordance with needs to ensure productivity
  • Provide guidance with regard to planning of appointed projects or tasks and the approach to investigations
  • Oversee the general ledge transaction and ensure compilations of the required financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy of the income and expenditure reports
  • Ensure that the revenue section performance is in accordance with approved standards and comply with legislative requirements
  • Manage, monitor and analyse the expenditure budget through periodical financial reports and statistics
  • Compile reports on all divisional activities and submit to the Senior Manager Financial accounting.

  • Interpersonal and Communication skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate ticket sales, sale of smart cards and various tickets to the public
  • Responsible for receiving, balancing and preparing monies for deposits
  • Handle enquiries with regards to fares
  • Completion of cashbook and passenger information on excel spreadsheet for monthly reporting purpose
  • Archiving of all relevant documentation for audit and record purpose
  • Responsible for special bus hire administration
  • Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of the cashier office and area utilized by public.
  • Receive members of the public who announce themselves at the office for enquiries and complaints
  • Attend to telephonic enquiries and refer to the relevant stakeholders
  • Provide feedback to any outstanding enquiries.

Job Purpose:

To plan, organize, lead, control, and oversee overall support services, policy implementation, and special projects in the department, putting into action strategic plans and policies of senior management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of the department.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Admin or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
  • Post Graduate Degree in Administration and Governance will serve as an advantage
  • At least 8 years’ relevant management experience, of which at least 3 years must have been at middle management level
  • Experience in governance and compliance
  • Experience in a corporate services environment
  • Strategic capacity leadership skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • People management skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic capability and leadership to ensure effective and efficient functioning of the support division
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and advise on governance and compliance regulatory frameworks, ensuring effective delivery of support, governance and compliance, and strategy and planning
  • Establish & manage strategic internal & external relationships, inclusive of customers, service providers & relevant legislative agencies & structures.
  • Responsible for the risk and audit-related matters
  • Responsible for contract management, i.e management of the entire pipeline of tenders, SLAs, and contracts
  • Development, management, and review of the Development Planning and Real Estate Department Strategy
  • Departmental branding and project promotion, in liaison with Department of Communication and Branding
  • Manage administrative functions to meet predetermined requirements and ensuring that organisational demands are met in the medium term.
  • Management of the SDBIP as well as IDP related deliverables of the department
  • Stakeholder management: overall responsibility for the stakeholders of the department, i.e. ward councillors, other departments, other municipalities, private sector, provincial and national departments
  • Be a key driver of organisational change and improvement by establishing more efficient day to day operations within the Department
  • Manage the consolidated financial planning, monitoring and reporting processes associated with the activities of the department
