Assistant Store Manager
Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Duties and responsibilities include training staff, managing inventory, ensuring a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing store environment and assisting customers. As well as promptly address and resolve customer complaints and any staff issues.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Customer Service Leadership
- Lead the sales team through example and ensuring meeting of personal and company sales targets – UPT, ATV and Turnover
- Performs and supports the team in delivering excellent customer service
- Floor presence, floor supervision, allocating team members as per zoning guide and supervising floor operations
Visual Merchandising
- Implementing merchandising as per guidelines and submitting VM pictures on a weekly
- Conducting regular VM walks throughout the day, ensuring product is tagged, hanging correctly, steamed, priced and replenished sufficiently for trade
- Continuous self and team training and assessment of visual merchandising of the store
Inventory Control
- Process all deliveries on the same day as receipt, including checking quantities to invoices, tagging, hanging, steaming and pricing product, and capturing the stock on the system
- Ensure stockroom is maintained and organized according to standards, stock positioned in order to expedite replenishment timeously
- Conduct weekly and monthly stock counts and stock takes accordingly, verify and submit accurate count reports
- Actively implement, practice and supervise risk control measures to help alleviate losses to the company
Supervising Daily Operations
- Manage time and attendance, Follow and implement opening and closing procedures accordingly
- Maintain all daily requirements, POS operation, Cash up, cash drop, time and attendance and general housekeeping
- Process refunds and exchanges according to company policy, escalate and inform OPS where necessary
SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Matric certificate compulsory
- Bachelor’s degree ideal
- 1 – 2 years’ experience working in a retail environment in a managerial role.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Logistics Manager is responsible for the seamless movement of inventory across international borders and domestic networks. You are the strategic link between global suppliers, freight forwarders, and our internal warehouse teams. Your primary objective is to ensure that products move through the supply chain with maximum cost-efficiency, total regulatory compliance, and minimal delay.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Shipment Planning & Multi-modal Coordination
- Plan and execute domestic and international shipments (Air & Sea), selecting optimal modes based on urgency and cost.
- Manage carrier and freight forwarder relationships to consolidate shipments, leveraging Incoterms to reduce total spend.
- Proactively manage disruptions (port delays, weather) and execute contingency plans for high-priority/urgent cargo.
- Order Fulfilment & Tracking
- Maintain real-time visibility of cargo using GPS tracking and carrier portals.
- Provide high-level support to the fulfilment team for complex cross-border orders.
- Work closely with Finance to audit freight invoices and ensure timely payment of duties, taxes, and shipping charges.
- Customs, Compliance & Global Documentation
- Produce and vet essential trade documents: Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, and Certificates of Origin.
- Ensure strict compliance with Customs regulations (duties, taxes, etc.) to avoid seizures or fines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Customs Brokers.
- Cost Control & Negotiation
- Benchmark and negotiate freight rates with global Forwarders and NVOCCs.
- Audit freight invoices against quotes to ensure billing accuracy (preventing overcharges on fuel surcharges or hidden port fees).
- Monitor exchange rate fluctuations and their impact on landed costs.
- Inventory & Warehouse Synergy
- Coordinate with regional warehouses to align dispatch schedules with international sailing/flight cut-offs.
- Oversee Reverse Logistics for international returns, including managing “Returned Goods Relief” to avoid paying double duties.
- Manage Inter-branch transfers (IBTs) between global hubs.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Relationship Management
- Liaise with international suppliers to ensure cargo is ready for pickup/loading on time.
- Manage claims for cargo damage or loss under international conventions (e.g., Hague-Visby or Montreal Convention).
- Collaborate with Finance to manage Letters of Credit (L/C) or various payment terms.
SKILLS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Experience: 5+ years in Trade and Logistics advantageous within retail, streetwear, fashion, or lifestyle.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of international shipping (Air/Sea) and customs processing in a retail environment.
- Behavioural Knowledge: A resilient problem-solver comfortable with overtime during peak seasons and the always-on nature of global trade.
- Operational Knowledge: Highly organized, multitasking-focused, and tech-savvy (ERP/Excel).
Additional Requirements for Retail:
- Understanding of Peak Season dynamics (e.g., pre-Christmas, sales, surges, Chinese New Year shutdowns).
- Willingness to monitor shipments outside of standard 9-to-5 hours to account for global time zones.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Customer Service
- Greet customers as they enter the store, assist them in finding products, and provide product information and recommendations.
- Actively and consistently implement upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase UPT,
ATV, Conversion and Turnover. - Understand and promote all payment methods including PAYFLEX, PJN, Happy Pay
- Representing the brand, adhering to uniform policy and grooming standards, presentable

Visual Merchandising
- Maintain a thorough understanding of products and placement, including materials, care instructions and pricing to effectively assist customers.

Stock Control

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To be professional and customer service-oriented and oversee daily operations at our store. As the store manager, you will supervise the operational and organisational standards of the store. Your duties will include undertaking administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, and developing business strategies.
The ideal candidate must be able to improve customer satisfaction and meet monthly sales goals. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Sales and Business Development
- Sets, Communicates and reaches targets UPT, ATV & Turnover
- Coaches and supports the team in delivering excellent customer service

Team Management

- Process all deliveries on the same day as receipt, including checking quantities to invoices, tagging, hanging, steaming and pricing product, and capturing the stock on the system

- Review and submit month-end reports (clock in, RED, Staff purchase), Update and utilise managers dashboard, provide signed trained registers for all staff
