PURPOSE:

PURPOSE:
To carry out the design of engineering works, assist in appointing the most credible contractors to carry out projects through preparation of tender documents and ensure smooth running of projects through supervision and monitoring on site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare design reports which are substantiated with calculations and computer analysis network designs that will be implemented. Circulate the design reports to the Planning, Operations, Project Management Unit and other Stakeholders for comment and approval. Make design recommendations based on the information gathered from the investigations. Compile tender documents with emphasis on the scope of work and bill of quantities. Conduct briefings to contractors interested in tendering, take the attendance register respond to questions on site and send minutes of the briefing session to all who attended. Visit sites for inspection at every critical stage of the project, may sometimes be required to be permanently on site. Monitor progress of projects and costs and report to Manager. Process payment certificates for contactors at each stage of the project, verify information on the progress report and if work done is of required quality and process payments accordingly. Issue the completion certificate once signed by parties involved. Compile and send regular progress reports to Manager, comment on reports done by the contractor. Develop and review long term operational plans for the department, Review the structure for the section and make recommendations for possible improvements. Assist in cleaning tanks by manually using spades and rakes to remove debris into solid waste bins. Clean the weirs of tanks with brooms. Assist in removing weeds and debris from the centre boxes and walls of tanks. Assist in cleaning disinfection tanks by removing settled sludge physically. Assist in general operations and maintenance. Clean up sludge spillages and loading it into solid waste bins. Remove dry sludge from sludge drying beds manually for mechanical removal. Routine cleaning of offices, toilets facilities and change rooms. Routine cleaning of pump stations and working areas. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visual inspection of plant and machinery condition. Check chemical stock tank levels and report to the process manager. Plan shift staff availability. Record using excel spreadsheet flow and equipment run hours. Report plant and machine breakdowns to maintenance and process manager. Follow-up reported breakdowns to facilitate plant and machine change over. Allocate and monitor operational duties to plant operators, operator drivers and general workers. Emphasize safe working procedures. Clearing blocked pipes and tanks. Assist process manager in sludge digestion problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Aiding and training on the job training to the Occupational Health personnel as part of continuous education. Sign off on medical assessment for placements. Manage and provide quality professional Occupational Healthcare to the company. Assist the Occupational Health personnel to review the health risk assessment. Compile feedback reports and assist with development and implementation of a risk based medical surveillance, programme, and matrix. Assist with ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the Occupational Health programs by the clinic. Directing and interpreting hygiene surveys. Interpreting hearing conservation tests and overseeing conservation hearing programs. Conduct medical examinations, assess medical surveillance results and trends.
