Purpose of the Position:

  • To ensure coordination and booking of incoming and outgoing OU satellite and fibre services for SuperSport and Multichoice

Key Performance Objectives

Operations delivery

  • Ensure that feedback is given to the line manager regarding systems problems, satellite capacity and fibre issues and limitations
  • Ensure the loading and capturing of invoices on SRM system for payment purposes and also validate the accuracy of the invoices from suppliers
  • Ensure Coordination and booking of incoming and outgoing OU satellite and fibre services for SuperSport and Multichoice
  • Check and maintain technical requirements with Host Broadcasters
  • Ensure follow-up with external suppliers regarding technical specification for the particular broadcast

Compliance

  • Operate within a given budget to determine and ensure that the financial requirements can be met
  • Perform in accordance with the business processes and policies
  • Participate in learning and development activities to ensure adherence to the requirements of the division

Qualification:

  • A matric certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
  • Qualification Preferred:

Purpose of the Position:

  • To execute production activities required to deliver high quality sporting broadcasts for the channel aligned to the ctandards of the SuperSport brand.

Key Performance Objectives

Production Process

  • Event planning – involved in the long-term visioning process by being available throughout the development phase of the project.
  • Ensure thorough pre-& post-production planning & execution with the aim of having all production elements ready on time.
  • Prepare the production strategy which includes contingency plans and provide technical & creative content guidance to the relevant directors’ pool & other suppliers.
  • Ensure successes and failures are reported according to SOP`s to ensure an evolving standard for future productions.
  • Liaise with other departments around effective ways of working from a technical & content perspective.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with applicable sporting associations and bodies to promote the SuperSport brand.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders within the sporting community to promote the SuperSport brand.
  • Build effective relationships with the broader broadcasting community and with 3rd party suppliers.

Budget Management

  • Ensure cost effective use of resources.
  • Ensure production stays within budget.
  • Keep relevant parties informed of billing requirements.
  • Ensure all productions meet required technical broadcasting standards and brand image.

Content Origination

  • Ensure content of buildups, inserts and live events meet the requirements of the target audience whilst remaining sensitive to the current political situation as per SuperSport guidelines.
  • Ensure the content meets technical & creative standards.
  • Content remains correct and up to date according to relevant sport requirements.

Qualifications

  • Matric and A Diploma in Media studies could be an advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3-5 Years in production role or similar position.
  • Sound technical & creative knowledge and understanding of live broadcasting, pre- and post-production.
  • Proven experience in other departments in television.
  • Experienced in Broadcast technology.
  • Computer literate
