Location:
Readymix Operation, Phillipi, Western Cape Province

Responsibilities:
1. Conduct prestart checks on equipment before use
2. Ensure checklist is accurately completed and data recorded
3. Responsible for checking that the defects are reported and mobiles maintained in good condition
4. Operate/ drive mobile equipment to support the achievement of team targets
5. Equipment operated per OEM design specification
6. Material/ product handling done without product contamination
7. Minor routine maintenance done to expected standards
8. Work according to all safety regulations and prescribed company safe work practices

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12
  2. Relevant competency certificates for the various mobiles/ vehicles in the plant
  3. One year operating similar trackless mobile machinery
  4. Knowledge of the operation’s code of practice
  5. Basic understanding of product flow process
  6. Able to identify right material for correct placement
  7. Basic maintenance skill for minor repairs
  8. Numerate and able to produce required reports

LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Location:
Peninsula Operation, Contermans Kloof, Durbanville, Western Cape Province

Responsibilities:

  1. Collect and test concrete samples from plant or site
  2. Collect and test aggregate samples from site and plant
  3. Prepare and test hardened concrete samples
  4. Prepare laboratory sample and conduct testing on aggregate materials
  5. Prepare raw materials for trial mixes and other ad-hoc concrete tests
  6. Produce non-conformance and other LIMS reports as required
  7. Ensure that the lab operates to ISO 9001:2015 standards, relevant procedures and SHE requirements

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Grade 12
  2. Computer literacy (Excel and Word)
  3. Valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence
  4. C&CI level 1 and 2 in Concrete Technology would be an advantage
  5. Understanding of production process and plant set ups would be an advantage
  6. Competency on routine test – Ready mix concrete and aggregate materials
  7. Good communication and interpersonal skills

Skills and Knowledge:
Previous experience in the sampling and testing of ready mix concrete and aggregate materials within the
construction industry.

Location:
Ulco near Kimberley

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the execution of maintenance activities and strategies to meet equipment availability
    targets.
  • Communicating and implementing appropriate maintenance practices and schedules on all
    equipment and comply with the AfriSam Way Maintenance strategy.
  • Setting and maintaining standards for equipment and installations.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and environmental requirements at all times.
  • Initiating, maintaining and executing work duties in accordance with company policies, procedures,
    instructions and risk management system standards.
  • Managing people to achieve alignment with organisational values, objectives and targets.
  • Optimisation of plant processes and systems to achieve excellence in operational standards

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 plus Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of three years maintenance experience within the cement or equivalent industry.
  • A Government Certificate of Competence (Mines and Works) will be advantageous.
  • Experience in relevant maintenance approaches for heavy industry type machinery.
  • Exposure to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management systems.
  • Knowledge of managing people.
  • Valid code B driver’s license

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Computer literate in Ms Word Package and SAP.
  • Good problem solving, planning, organising, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good failure analysis skills will be advantageous.
