REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related qualification (SAQA NQF7).
■ Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial management with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting, 3 years of which should be within the public sector. ■ A Valid Driver’s License. ■ A Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting/Finance (SAQA NQF8) would be an added advantage
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
The successful candidate must have ■ Good understanding of General ledger reconciliations. ■ Practical knowledge of the PFMA as well as Treasury regulations. ■ Knowledge and use of accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, etc. ■ Knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Principles (GRAP). ■ Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
■ Knowledge International Accounting Standards. ■ Experience implementing financial controls and compiling financial reports.
■ Understanding of SCM processes
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
■Financial Accounting Management. ■Banking and cash management and reconciliation. ■ Financial Reporting and Asset Management. ■Transaction Processing/ Systems/ Controls. ■Assist with budget management. ■ Review payments in preparation for processing. ■ Assist with payroll review and reconciliations

License. ■ A CA(SA) or a relevant Master’s degree would be an added advantage

The successful candidate will be required to manage and coordinate the Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) budget.

■ Management of sub-unit reports. ■ Management of unit reports. ■ People and Financial Management within the unit
