PROGRAMMER

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Purpose of the position:
The incumbent will be responsible for the development and maintenance of programmes and systems
for NWK under the guidance of a project leader. The development and maintenance of the system and
programmes will be done in a team consisting of other programmers.

Duties of the position:

  • Creating and developing a graphical interface in collaboration with PHP for the NWK operating
    system (no knowledge of system is required);
  • Developing PHP according to NWK’s existing framework;
  • Writing of web-based programmes;
  • Thorough testing of developed system; as well as
  • Implementation of systems and providing the necessary training to users.

Minimum requirements:

  • Two (2) years’ experience in web oriented programming
  • Knowledge and experience in PHP 5; MySQL; HTML5 / CSS; Javascript; jQuery; JSON-RPC
  • A Gr 12 certificate
  • Persons with a relevant degree or diploma will be given preference.

Skills:

  • Self-motivated
  • The ability to work together in a team
  • Driven and goal oriented
  • Good planning skills
  • The ability to work under pressure
