Core Description
Responsible to implement key strategic deliverables for the Openserve All IP Network. This includes the implementation of specific plan, build and engineering activities, in the network and element management areas. Convening meetings and initiate site surveys to determine project requirements, compile executable files and place purchase orders. Liaise with service providers and relevant internal role players to oversee and effect build requirements. Capitalise asset expenses and keep the Openserve asset register up to date. Keep abreast with the latest telecommunications developments to support the Openserve network.
Job Responsibilities
– Provide high-level support and consult various role-players across the value chain to modernise the Openserve IP network (Switching and Routing).
– Establish and maintain relationships with ICT peers and counterparts via the following media: Workshops, Conferences, Forums and Special interest groups
– Participate in Procurement process w.r.t. contract negotiations, inputs to Cross Functional Sourcing Team (CFST) and evaluate technical aspects of tenders (RFB Request for Bid; RFP Request for Proposal)
– Convene site surveys to determine project requirements.
– Compile executable files
– Place purchase orders timeously and correctly.
– Compile daily/ weekly/ monthly, KPI Master, Project, Network and Element Management, SAP system reports and documentation.
– Monitor and update Capital expenditure of projects/ programmes against spending plan
– Update PC (Project) estimate database
– Engineer Capital Projects w.r.t. Detailed Engineering, WAP process, compile CPA for approval and compile Equipment Specification/ Bill of Materials
– Implement Capital Project w.r.t. Statement of Work (SOW), liaise with suppliers/ build, progress reports, initiate billing process, commission/ decommission, track expenditure and capitalize project
– Compile/ submit Network and Element Management Project Plan
– Compile Network and Element Management Business Cases, submit and obtain approval
