Key Performance Outputs

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Airport Operations Centre, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Provide a safe and secure environment and manage Security personnel.
  • Develop Human Capital in line with relevant policies and procedures, including the Work Skills Plan.
  • Manage entire recruitment process.
  • Perform and ensure quarterly Performance Management System (PMS) assessments.
  • Initiate disciplinary procedures through HR processes
  • Compile and ensure compliance and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and inspect registers where applicable.

  • Ensure timeous reporting, follow-up and feedback on all incidents and accidents.
  • Ensure and operate according to ICAO, NKP and SACAA and other relevant Legislation and all ACSA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure contract management in line with SLA where applicable (KSIA & ORTIA AVSEC).
  • Manage Service Level Agreements (SLA) of service providers where applicable
  • Attend to and assist with customer and stakeholder complaints and compliments, including escalated complaints and ensure remedial action.
  • Collaborate with SAPS and local government agencies.
  • Respond to all emergencies in the prescribed manner and ensure that the team is able to respond adequately.
  • Manage budget within relevant area.
  • Manage and coordinate risk and threat analyses and mitigate action plans.

Technical Skills and Experience

Job Description

Key Performance Outputs

The successful candidate, reporting to the Manager Fire and Rescue will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure compliance to legislative requirements (CAA – Civil Aviation Authority; ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization and Municipal by laws).
  • Ensure the buildings comply with legislation, signage, escape routes, fire extinguishers, hose reels; as per SANS – South African National Standards.
  • Analysis of current systems and implementation thereof where required.
  • Ensure regular site visits and inspections with staff.
  • Conduct training on fire prevention.
  • Develop and maintain a fire prevention plan.
  • Develop and implement a stakeholder auditing system.
  • Conduct SANS audits and building evacuations.

  • Produce monthly reports on Fire Prevention status.

Job Description

An exciting vacancy exists at OR Tambo International Airport for a dedicated individual to join the Airport Management Division.

Key Performance Outputs 

The successful candidate, reporting to the Senior Manager Maintenance Engineering, will be responsible for the following: 

  • Ensure compliance to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP’s, operational standards, policies and practices.

  • Manage overall governance and provide input into contract specifications.

  • Participate in people development initiatives such as performance management, succession planning, talent management etc. to ensure team performance meet required standards.
  • Ensure that procurement processes are started within sufficient time to ensure continuity of contracts.
  • Manage maintenance CAPEX projects in line with set standards.
  • Review technical reports relating to service ability of infrastructure and make recommendations or decisions within delegation authority.
  • Compile a report outlining scope of projects and project objectives and submit for approval to governing body.
  • Highlight variances according to benchmarks with regards to infrastructure availability.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal (peers, unions, team) as well as external (service providers etc.) relationships and implement remedial actions where required to ensure achievement of organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders with regards to impact of project activities.
  • Provide relevant and specialized technical support in area of expertise to relevant stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives.

  • BTech Engineering/BSC Civil is essential.
