Purpose:
Support the profitability and growth of the credit and insurance portfolios within Mr Price Money by leveraging data, market trends, and cross-functional collaboration. Drive the execution of commercial projects and business solutions, working closely with senior management to deliver on strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Strategy Execution & Business Partnering
- Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to execute credit and insurance strategies.
- Partner with Marketing, Operations, and BI teams to monitor and optimise performance of both new and existing customer bases.
- Support the development and execution of omni-channel acquisition and distribution strategies for credit and insurance products.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners and suppliers to enhance product offerings and distribution efficiency.
2. Product Development & Performance Management
- Assist in the design and execution of commercial models and forecasts for new product development.
- Monitor product profitability and customer segment performance, recommending improvements as needed.
- Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify revenue growth opportunities.
- Prepare business cases for product enhancements and innovations.
3. Commercial Modelling & Business Intelligence
- Work with Finance and BI teams to develop and maintain profitability models, forecasts, and reporting tools.
- Analyse customer data, market trends, and channel performance to provide actionable insights.
- Support the implementation of spend stimulation and customer engagement initiatives.
4. Compliance & Risk Management
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to FAIS, NCR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support quarterly compliance reporting and the implementation of financial and operational controls.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes in the credit and insurance landscape.
5. Project Leadership & Technology Support
- Lead or support projects aimed at improving product and process performance.
- Assist in the migration to scalable technology platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with IT and BI teams to automate and enhance reporting mechanisms.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between various teams (Marketing, Finance, Operations, IT, HR) to ensure cohesive execution of business initiatives.
- Support the Commercial Manager in stakeholder management and cross-divisional collaboration.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications (CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, or equivalent) advantageous but not required.
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in financial services, with exposure to credit, insurance, or retail finance.
- Experience in product development, distribution optimisation, or business intelligence is advantageous.
- Proven ability to analyse data, develop commercial models, and support strategic initiatives.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with BI tools and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management experience and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with FAIS, NCR, and other relevant compliance standards.

Job Description
Reporting to the Financial Manager, you would assist in the entire financial process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, as well to provide support in evaluating current processes and recommending improvements that align to the company policies and audit requirements. The role requires not only financial capability but the ability to think operationally.
Responsibilities
- Month end closing activities to ensure accurate processing and financial records comply with company policies and accounting principles.
- Compilation of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Exception reports generated for expenses with significant deviations from budget and forecasts set.
- Timeous completion of group reporting (i.e.: summary of losses)
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and updating of forecasts for portfolio expenses.
- Presentation of portfolio expenses trackers to relevant department heads.
- Liaise with internal and external audit on audit requirements.
- Facilitate and encourage collaboration with support departments.
- Checking, authorizing and releasing payments across all banking platforms.
- Ad hoc activities and projects as the need arises.
Qualifications

Finance Administrator (Rentals)
Job Description
We are often looking for contractors to assist our Real Estate team with finance. These contracts are normally 3 months long only.
This is a talentpool advert – meaning that this is not an active current vacancy but a place where you can apply to be considered for this role in the future when it arises.
Responsibilities
- Capturing & Payments:
- Capture local and foreign rental supplier’s expenses on purchase order system (DAX) against correct cost centre/supplier.
- Ensure all EFT’s are done timeously.
- Calculate turnover rental due.
- Reporting & Recon:
- Prepare a Variance to Last Month report on a monthly basis and send to Commercial Manager for review.
- Maintain electricity consumption reports and BEE certificates.
- Prepare and ensure turnover certificates are sent to landlords annually. Update and send turnover sales to landlords monthly.
- Perform a recon against the supplier statement and if variances found, follow up. Monitor rentals against the lease management database.
Qualifications
- A finance-based qualification
- Sound knowledge of MS Office suite (MS Word, PowerPoint & Excel)

- Experience with dealing with landlords and rentals

Stock Controller
Job Description
This is a Talent Pool advert for Stock Control contractors for the Mr Price Group. Our stock control contracts are normally 3 months in length. If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted when suitable roles arise. The purpose of this role is to ensure stock information for the divisions is up to date and all queries are resolved timeously.
Responsibilities
• Provide support and advice to Operations / Distribution Centre / Courier companies regarding the stock policies and procedures, queries, and claims
• Monitor transfers In-transit and manage the age analysis of stock in-transit
• Resolve and analyze transfer queries and claims between stores, Distribution Centre and Courier companies
• Stock Take Preparation – assist in the preparation of stores for stock-takes
• Ensure all stock take data is updated and processed
• Ensure stock administration and Stock Take Variance Reports are complete and valid for month-end
• Review stock variances and monitor shrinkage results
• Follow up of claims submitted to Courier companies
• Assist team with adhoc tasks
Qualifications
• Finance related diploma or degree
• 2+ year’s Stock Control experience
• Computer literate (MS Office and Outlook)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Creditors (FTC)
Job Description
This 3 month contract role is responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all sundry creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. A reminder that this is a talent pool vacancy, meaning that we will only contact you when this vacancy arises.
Responsibilities
- Invoices.
- Process invoices and purchase orders.
- Match and batch invoices and delivery notes.
- Follow up on payment of invoices due, by sending bill reminders and contacting clients to ensure that no invoices are long outstanding.
2. Payments.
- Process accounts and incoming payments in order to follow up where payments are missed.
- Prepare sundry creditors payments and ensure suppliers are paid timeously to avoid penalties of missed payments.
- BEE Certificates.
- Follow-up on BEE certificates for each service provider to ensure compliance and documentation is available on DAX.
4. Reconciliations.
- Reconcile the accounts receivables ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Prepare reconciliations of amounts owed to each sundry vendor (per the statement received) against the amount owed per DAX to ensure consistency between the two.
- Data Capturing.
- Maintain the sundry creditors data base including capturing of new suppliers in DAX.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Grade 12.
- Qualification in Finance (preferred)

- 2-3 Years ‘creditors experience
- Strong MS Excel experience
