Job Purpose
Planning, organising and controlling the movement/allocation and utilisation of staff, plant/heavy earth moving or materials handling equipment and vehicles of the Water and Sanitation Unit.
Key Responsibility Areas
Manages and controls all plant, equipment, vehicles and relevant personnel in the Division, including hired items.
Acts on request from customer and performs on-site inspections to determine the applicable plant for the terrain and any given job/operation.
Undertakes regular inspections of all plant and equipment and arranges with workshops to undertake certain maintenance and repairs in light of such inspections.
Attends to unplanned emergency operations.
Supervises and controls personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
Attends to the financial administration in the branch.

Job Purpose

Job Purpose
To undertake a wide range of generic functions which are embedded in all Manager posts in the Disaster Management Division ad specifically manage the functional areas of disaster and recovery.
Key Responsibility Areas
•Communicates with the Senior Manager (Operations) on Response and Recovery in order to
align functions and service delivery objectives against the capacity and capability of the Section.

•Maintains a database detailing all pertinent resources required to manage an emergency/disaster.
•Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific work and associated sequences associated with the functionality.
•Disseminates information on outcomes, current developments, problems and constraints and/or presents educational material on public safety.
•Maintaining the activity and recordkeeping systems and/or executing specific actions to facilitate the updating of registers and schedules as well as verifying and approving transactional and/ or procedural documentation/ forms prior to circulation or processing,
