Sales Account Executive X3

Job Description This role is responsible for driving strategic sales growth for Sage X3 across Africa and the Middle East, while ensuring exceptional service to our customers and partners. The position focuses on expanding Sage’s market share, delivering against revenue targets, and championing Sage X3 and its aligned product suite in the region. Success will come from disciplined execution of the regional sales strategy, strong alignment with New Customer Acquisition (NCA) priorities, effective Customer for Life management, and collaboration with regional marketing initiatives.
You will proactively build, manage, and convert a healthy sales pipeline—owning every stage of the process.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment and is excited to be part of something new. You must be adaptable, tenacious, and confident working both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate is comfortable presenting to C-Suite audiences, embraces change, and is relentlessly outcome-driven. Strong business writing skills and proven sales experience in Manufacturing, Retail, and Distribution are essential.

Location – 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities • Consistently achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual Sage X3 sales quotas by executing the prescribed sales and business development strategy.Lead New Customer Acquisition efforts by identifying and prioritizing strategic accounts, working closely with the Sales Director to execute a targeted NCA plan.

  • Manage partner-led opportunities from inception to closure, supporting Business Partners with sales and marketing activities tied to revenue growth.
  • Arrange and conduct site visits with existing and prospective customers in alignment with the regional sales strategy.
  • Deliver high-quality cost-benefit, needs, and value analyses using Sage toolsets and collateral—presented professionally to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensure full compliance with Sage’s Quality and Business Processes.
  • Manage and deliver product demonstrations, either directly or through collaboration with the pre-sales demo team, ensuring alignment with defined business requirements.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing insights that shape strategy and execution.
  • Engage consistently with existing customers to nurture long-term relationships and strengthen Sage loyalty.
  • Proactively manage all sales opportunities in Salesforce, ensuring complete, accurate, and transparent documentation across the full sales lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting with weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates, including daily refinements to key opportunity details.
  • Demonstrate strong time management by effectively prioritizing and scheduling daily and weekly activities.
  • Actively promote Sage through professional engagement on LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.

Skills, Know-How & Experience
Must Have:

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Finance, Business, IT, or related fields.
  • BCom Marketing is advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a customer-facing sales role.
  • Proven ERP sales experience within Manufacturing, Retail, and Distribution verticals.
  • Strong presentation and demo delivery skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to think independently while maintaining strong results focus.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and creative selling skills across all decision-making levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Business Partners; collaborative team player.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Technical / Professional Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification (Financial, Business, or IT-related).
  • In-depth ERP and industry knowledge—particularly in Financials, Manufacturing, Retail, and Distribution.

As the Senior Manager, Product Marketing for Small Business and Accountants in South Africa, you’ll lead the go-to-market strategy for our core solutions, ensuring Sage is the trusted partner for small businesses and the accounting profession.
