Minimum Requirements
BSc Chemical Engineering (NQF Level 8); or
BTech Engineering (NQF Level 8); or
BEng Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering (NQF Level 8)
Ideal: Academic qualifications with 5 years of practical experience. Good understanding of process engineering calculations and application.

Duties and Responsibilities
Process Engineering, Optimisation & Technical Support

Provide expert process engineering support to optimise equipment efficiencies, emissions, clinker and cement quality, and production costs.
Conduct site visits, remote diagnostics, inspections, investigations, and technical assessments.
Perform technical evaluations, root-cause analyses, and engineering consultations.
Initiate and implement value-adding and cost-reduction initiatives.
Support the development and verification of emissions reporting systems.
Provide input and verification for PCS standards related to process improvements.
Ensure technical recommendations are implemented consistently across plants.
Project Support, Innovation & Technical Validation

Provide technical support to projects, including evaluations, recommendations, and adjudications.
Provide technical validation for alternative fuel/resource projects and trials.
Participate in interdisciplinary engineering initiatives promoting cross-functional integration.
Support project managers and engineering teams with expert input
Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong working relationships across PPC operations.
Provide customer visits and technical support where required.
Promote alignment and collaboration between engineering, production, IT, SHE, and quality teams.
Manage interdisciplinary communication and ensure effective meeting facilitation.
Coach and develop technical personnel, including operators and engineering staff.
Support PPC’s technical competency management initiatives.
Transfer knowledge related to chemistry, process control, optimisation, and analytics.
Facilitate sharing of lessons learned between operations.
Compliance, Governance and Reporting

Maintain Group Process Standards and ensure operational adherence.
Update, align, and validate process documentation, procedures, and policies.
Ensure alignment between technical systems and business systems for data flow and reporting.
Develop, evaluate, and improve best practices across PPC operations.
Support safety, legal, environmental, and statutory compliance in operations.
Oversee technical reporting, including emissions, optimisation metrics, and plant analytics.

Duties and Responsibilities
Control site access by authorising biometric access for all contractors, suppliers, and employees inaccordance with the site SHE induction process
Coordinate PPE compliance, including:
Assessing and recommending PPE for each work activity
Inspecting compliance with issued PPE
Authorising and issuing PPE in line with PPC standards
Develop and implement a SHE Departmental Plan covering:
Routine SHE inspections (contractor and PPC areas)
Risk inspections aligned with the Construction HIRA
Conduct SHE related training and toolbox talks
Monthly and quarterly awareness campaigns (e.g., “Safe Lifting”, “Working at Heights”)
Monitor leading and lagging indicators and evaluate negative trends (e.g. increase in unsafe acts or near misses), then recommend remedial actions
Conduct internal audits and trend analysis to evaluate contractor SHE performance and identify areas for improvement

Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Collections – to ensure customers are contacted telephonically on a daily basis in order to secure a PTP (Promise to Pay).
Send reminders, statements, and follow-up correspondence regarding outstanding invoices.
Maintain email communication with customers where necessary.
Follow Up on all defaulted payment arrangements.
Ensure reconciliations are accurately done where required.
Identify payments on the bank statement and ensure payments are accurately allocated once the bank statement has been posted.
Identify accounts for possible Legal Handover for escalation and approval to the Lead Credit Management.
Ensure Final Demands are sent to all applicable customers 60days in arrears.
Negotiate and Send Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD’s) to customers where a payment arrangement in excess of one month is required and ensure a signed AOD is received
Monitor all AOD Payments.
Maintain filing system of all customer files.
Ensure Sales Managers are telephonically advised of key customers nearing their Credit Limit
Review Overtrading Accounts and request Credit Limit Increase Letters from the relevant Customers / escalate to the Credit Management Lead where necessary.
Ensure all accounts on the monthly stop supply list are blocked on the system.
Complete Vendor Documents when necessary and submit weekly
Provide weekly updates on debtors ageing report to Credit Management Lead.
