The Plant Assistant is responsible for the cleaning of the plant to ensure the plant is kept in a clean and working order every day.

To perform general labour activities at the mixing plant in order to make pre-mixed concrete possible.

Can be required to perform other duties within the scope of a ready-mix operation, when certified / competent to do so (Batching, FEL Operation, Cube making) and under supervision of the Plant Supervisor.

Adhere to safety Company safety rules and procedures, report any and all deviation thereof

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12

Minimum of 6 months experience as a Plant Assistant

Ability to read and write in English.

Must be medically fit to perform his role.

Must be able to work under pressure.

Any other relevant experience may be advantageous.

Must work overtime as and when needed.

May be required to perform alternative duties.

Must be able to work at heights

Duties and Responsibilities
Perform General housekeeping and cleaning of the plant and plant area including washbay area.

Must comply with all safety rules and procedures relevant to the ready-mix operation.

Must report all safety risks to the supervisor immediately once observed

Report all spillages, blockages and faults on the plant to the Supervisor immediately.

Taking dips in cement and fly ash silos.

The Plant Assistant must be flexible and be able to perform any other duty assigned to him/her that are reasonable and lawful to the best of his / her ability

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned and greased.

Tyre management

Drive vehicle to and from sites and transport loads to ensure that work is carried out as scheduled.

Obtain and plan routes to be used to get to required sites.

Check for defaults on a continuous basis.

Operates mixer to off load the load.

Adhere to the traffic rules and regulations and all the relevant company set policies and procedures.

Daily instructions are received with regard to refuse removal

Minimum Requirements Grade 12 plus a recognised 3-year tertiary qualification (Civil/Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering preferred).
5 years’ experience in FMCG/Civil/Industrial industry, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
Computer literacy: Sage Evolution & MS Office.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Code EB Driver’s Licence.
Ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Batcher must batch quality concrete as per the required mix design, do not deviate from the required mix design specifications and only release correctly batched concrete from the plant.

The Batcher must ensure that the concrete meets all quality specification before leaving the plant

Notify his/her technical controller or Supervisor of any Batch deviations and or non-conforming concrete before dispatching

Keep record of the batched concrete in the sequence in which it occurs to ensure that proper records are kept for reference purposes.

Reduce batch variances to zero.

Liaise with the customers and ensure proper customer service delivery as well as maximum truck utilization.

To uphold and implement all safety regulations and initiatives.

The Batcher will record and report immediately to the Supervisor, any defects, Incidents on the plant, people or equipment which are found during the pre-start check or which occur during the course of production.

Perform any duty or function assigned to you from time to time that is reasonable and lawful
