Civil Leading Hand support to the factory. Management of mostly contracting staff and will report to the Plant Engineer. He/She will be responsible for the care and maintenance of all buildings, infrastructure and rail infrastructure in a safe and cost-effective way. Complete management of civil and structural projects from feasibility to commissioning. Motivates for and manages OPEX and CAPEX budgets under his/her control. Manages outsourced services. Condition monitoring of plant equipment and root cause analysis. Track availability and acquisition of spares.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Diploma in Civil Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
At least 5 years experience in Civil Engineering principles in the following field:
Structural steel and concrete maintenance
Concrete design and maintenance
Building maintenance
Civil infrastructure maintenance in accordance to SANS 10400 or NBR of SA
Advanced skills in MS Office
Contractor’s management is essential
Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skill
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Maintenance of factory infrastructure.
Compiling and controlling of civil budget.
Management of contractors
Compliance to environmental quality, safety, and health standards in accordance to the OHS Act and Regulations 85 of 1993.
Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge and understanding of road design, construction and maintenance
Knowledge and understanding of concrete specifications and maintenance
Knowledge and understanding of structural steel design, construction and maintenance
Knowledge and understanding of National Building regulations and standards as per NBR of SA and SANS 10400
Knowledge and understanding of electrical installations COCs and electrical maintenance as per SANS 10142
Knowledge and understanding of sewerage and storm water systems design and maintenance as per SANS 10400 & SANS 10200
Knowledge and understanding of the MHS Act, OHS Act and applicable regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of standards relating to potable water quality as per GDWQ SANS 241 (ISO 24510, ISO 24511, ISO 24512)
Knowledge and understanding of Asbestos Management Plan for the industry
Maintenance of all building in the factory
Ensure compliance to structural condition assessments as per Construction Regulation
Maintain roads, road signage in compliance with the National Traffic rules and regulations
Proficient in AutoCAD
Proficient in all MS office applications
Sound contractor Management skills
Knowledge and understanding of SLAs, tender process and RFQ documents
Strong administrative skills
Maintenance of Rail infrastructure in accordance with SANS 30001

Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Controls
Conduct post-implementation control review across all business processes to determine variance to planned controls
Conduct scheduled control self-assessments (CSA) and report on outcome
Document controls, distribute to the relevant end users, and ensure compliance to all relevant standards and standard operating procedures
Identify internal issues in controls, investigate and mitigate the issues that have been identified through the introduction of remediation activities
Assist in implementing optimisation projects or initiatives with the purpose of improving internal financial controls and operational control to reduce financial risks
Identify the gaps and mitigate the risks when developing controls
Implement, maintain, and update financial controls, risks, and controls documentation
Maintain all financial policies and standard operating procedures ensuring an appropriate level of internal control
Maintain master data on SAP GRC as the key repository of controls
Provide training to end users on controls, GRC system and provide guidance on remediation
Provide training to end users on financial representation letter(FRC) process
Hold business accountable on controls and remediation
Partner with Internal Audit on gap analysis and control audits
Provide support to IT authorisations teams and business to manage user permissions on the ERP system to ensure segregation of duties and review of user access to identify any conflicts regarding access to prohibited data and identifying and implementing mitigating controls.
Review internal processes with stakeholders and process owners to identify the key tasks and assist control owners in designing the controls
Attend stock counts at key production plants to provide oversight.

Cycle Counting –
Counting stock items as per count sheets and investigating variances
Ensure accurate capturing of data –
Timeous and correct updating of goods receipts and goods issues on SAP. Ensure the status of stock is correct on both the system and floor.
Governance –
Maintaining and adhere to the warehouse processes and instructions. Comply with work rules, standards and methods.
Housekeeping –
Always maintain a high level of housekeeping. Take care to minimise waste.
