GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMMIP COPYRIGHT x2

CIPC (a member of the dtic) is committed to youth skills development by providing graduates with opportunities to gain work experience to complement their studies. Applicants are invited for an Internship Programme that would run for a period of 24 months. Interns will be placed in our Sunnyside Office (Pretoria).

 WHAT IS INTERNSHIP

As contemplated by Cabinet in December 2002, Internship is a public service graduate work experience programme targeting unemployed graduates. It gives students workplace experience or an opportunity to practice the work skills that they have studied and will practice in the future.

 Beneficiaries of the Internship programme:

  • Unemployed South African graduates from higher education institutions who have completed their degrees/diplomas.
  • Unemployed graduates who have not been exposed to any work experience.
  • Unemployed graduates who have never participated in the Internship programme.
  • Applicants must be between ages of 18 to 35 years old.

 REMUNERATION

Interns are offered R12 000.00 stipend per month

Successful applicants will be expected to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.

Job purpose:

To perform business and technical analysis and activities linked to maintaining the XBRL taxonomy and technology stack thereby ensuring that the technology systems and business processes implemented meet the needs of the business unit and its stakeholders and where necessary identity and expose the business opportunities and implications of re-engineering projects internally and externally.

Key performance areas:  

  • Prepare and develop new updated CIPC taxonomy releases / updates / fixes / extensions, preparation of taxonomy supportive documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance to the users of the CIPC taxonomy in the form of relevant documentation or other forms of relevant communication.
  • Provide XBRL change management Interventions (Webinars, articles, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot issues on the XBRL Portal / Validation Engine / BI Reporting Platform and Processes.
  • Provide input into operating policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Define functional / system specifications and processes according to leading practice business standards if so required to enhance or resolve technical, functional or operational issues related to the XBRL Platform and also BI Reporting Platform.
  • Interpret defined system specifications and write programs according to Business standards and technology platforms and provide test data to ensure validity of programs and full programs and procedure documentation, evaluation and modification of existing programs when systems are undergoing changes.
  • Apply Project Management principles to deliver annual Taxonomy updates
  • Provide quality assurance on all output relating to the XBRL project
  • Respond to technical queries regarding XBRL / iXBRL deliverables produced by the CIPC and Analysing feedback received from the external review of the produced XBRL deliverables.
  • Maintain Linux / Unix (hosting JAVA API’s), Microsoft SQL databases, XBRL Platform Code, Microsoft Reporting Services Platform ensuring good operability and performance of the systems.

Requirements

Required Minimum Education/training:

  • B Degree in Information Technology/Systems or BTech in Information Technology a relevant similar qualification.

Required Minimum Experience:

  • 1-2 years in IT Systems / Programming

Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle

Optional:

  • 1-2 years of experience in project management or project-related work will be advantageous.
  • 1-2 Years of exposure to basic accounting, a fair grasp of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) will be advantageous.
  • Good grasp of data analytics and business intelligence
