Job description:
An opportunity exists for a Quantitative Analyst (focusing on activities falling under the ambit of Data Science) within the investment team of a growing financial services organisation. The role requires an individual with strong skills and relevant asset management industry experience in data management, advanced analytics and descriptive analysis. The individual will be the custodian of the investment team’s data. This will entail a holistic approach to data management and analysis across multiple asset classes. Responsibilities:
Data Management: Review and document all data collection, storage and usage of data within the investment team. Take ownership of and mManage data within the investment team, improving collection, storage and retrieval. Look for opportunities to upgrade and streamline existing processes or create new enhanced processes.
Systems & Analytics: Liaise with the Business Analyst team on new system implementations, including possible Data Centralisation, Research, Portfolio Construction and Risk Management systems. Take ownership of existing portfolio analysis tools (including iMaps, Bloomberg, Thinkfolio), constantly looking to provide incrementally better portfolio and risk analytics to the fund managers.
Data Analysis: Look for opportunities to leverage off the investment team’s data tohelp improve the Investment processes, behavioural decision-making, identify new investment ideas, and to improve portfolio construction and risk management.
Visualisation & Reporting: Take ownership of the derivative analysis and reporting processes, and leverage off data to improve the trading process. Look for opportunities to improve visualisation of data and reporting, both for internal and external use.
Interaction with other divisions: Liaise with the Business Analyst team and Sales / Marketing to understand investment team relevant data collected and maintained outside the investment team (analysis of portfolio trades, Statpro reports of attribution / contribution etc) and ensure this data is available in the appropriate format as and when required.
