Project Manager

Job Grade: P7

Job Purpose:

To manage the total execution of ICT projects to ensure that projects meet their objectives, that commissioned deliverables are complete, produced to schedule, to budget and meet the quality and risk management specifications, as specified by the customer.

Required Minimum Education/Training:

  • Degree/ Diploma in Project Management (with a specialization in either Software Development or Infrastructure Management or Security or any ICT related domain)
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of PMBOK and Agile Project Management Frameworks
  • Demonstrated understanding and of Project Management principles, tools, techniques and  knowledge

Required Minimum Experience:

  • 5 – 7 years of experience in project management (3 years leading ICT project implementation teams)

Key performance areas:

  • To execute complete projects
  • To make input into operating policies, procedures and guidelines
  • To report on performance and to identify and escalate performance constraints

Applicants may, as a step in the recruitment process, be subjected to competency assessment. In addition, the successful candidate must be prepared to undergo a process of security clearance prior to appointment.

Qualifications and SA citizenship checks will be conducted on the successful candidate. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Description

GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME FOR CORPORATE EDUCATION AND VOLUNTARY COMPLIANCE DIVISION

CIPC (a member of the dtic) is committed to youth skills development by providing graduates with opportunities to gain work experience to complement their studies. Applicants are invited for an Internship Programme that would run for a period of 12 months. Interns will be placed in our Sunnyside Office (Pretoria).

WHAT IS INTERNSHIP

As contemplated by Cabinet in December 2002, Internship is a public service graduate work experience programme targeting unemployed graduates. It gives students workplace experience or an opportunity to practice the work skills that they have studied and will practice in the future.

Beneficiaries of the Internship programme:

  • Unemployed South African graduates from higher education institutions who have completed their degrees/diplomas.
  • Unemployed graduates who have not been exposed to work experience related to the area of study that they have completed.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 35 years old.

REMUNERATION

Interns are offered R12 000.00 stipend per month

OTHER INFORMATION

Qualifications, SA citizenship, and Criminal Record checks will be conducted on the successful candidate. The applicant must have a foreign qualification(s) evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority, if applicable.

Candidates will be expected to be available for selection interviews on a date, time and place as determined by CIPC.

NB: Candidates will be required to write an assessment test as part of the recruitment process.
